The one and only advantage Xtians have over Atheists
They can plead insanity if charged with a crime, and probably get away
with it

Example:the abduction of Elizabeth Smart

The father of Utah teenager Elizabeth Smart wants the homeless man
accused of abducting her to be locked away in a mental hospital after
being declared mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Ed Smart said on Wednesday that he didn't think Brian Mitchell, 51,
would ever be found fit to stand trial, even though he suspects the
man is faking some of his symptoms.
A Utah judge made the ruling Tuesday on Mitchell, who is accused of
abducting Elizabeth, then 14, in 2002 and keeping her as a second wife
until she was found nine months later.

Judge Judith Atherton ordered Mitchell, a homeless man and self-
described prophet, to be sent to a state mental hospital until he is
deemed capable of standing trial.
On Wednesday, Ed Smart told Fox News television that he thinks
Mitchell understands much of what goes on around him and exaggerates
some of his actions.
"I think he puts on a show. I think that's a fake, there's no question
about it."
Smart told reporters that, at the same time, he thought Mitchell had
"deeper" problems that didn't seem to be going away.
Court documents said that Mitchell has allegedly told investigators
that God ordered him to abduct Smart.

"I just don't see any change happening," he told the CBS The Early
Show.
"Why did he think he's the Almighty? There's got to be a mental
problem there," he told Fox News.
During several days of hearings into Mitchell's mental state during
the past seven months, the accused man had to be removed from the
courtroom after loudly singing hymns or shouting religious sayings.
The judge said on Tuesday that although Mitchell understood the
charges against him and possible penalties, he showed symptoms of "a
delusional disorder."
Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee, were charged with abducting Smart
from her bedroom at knifepoint in June 2002, sparking a massive search
effort that attracted international attention.
The couple allegedly took Elizabeth into the Utah foothills, where she
was sexually assaulted and kept as Mitchell's second wife.
Nine months later, Smart was found walking with the couple on a street
in Salt Lake City.

REPLY: Again..not everything done in the NAME of God is OF God or
Christianity. But everything done in the NAME of atheism IS OF
atheism.

SANTA FE, N.M. - The leader of an apocalyptic sect in northeastern
New
Mexico was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony sex crimes
against
children.
State police arrested Wayne Bent, 66, on three counts of criminal
sexual contact of a minor and three counts of contributing to the
delinquency of a minor, said Department of Public Safety spokesman
Peter Olson.

Bent was being held on $500,000 bond at the Union County Detention
Center in Clayton and was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.Wayne
Bent's son, Jeff Bent, who also lives at Strong City, said the
charges
against his father were "false charges."

"He hasn't done anything wrong. He hasn't committed any crimes," the
younger Bent said in an interview with AP Online Video.
"I don't question that there are things that have happened here that
are shocking to people's cultural norms, but ... the things that have
occurred here are not illegal," he said.
He also said he did not know to what extent Wayne Bent would take
part
in the legal proceedings, saying, "he will do what God instructs him
to do." (GOODCOP-OUT)

Wayne Bent has acknowledged having sex with followers - including his
daughter-in-law - and lying naked with virgins. He said the virgins
asked for sex, but he refused. (YEAH RIGHT)

In a posting on the church's Web site, he denied that there was any
molestation of children or adults at the community. A former member
of
the sect has estimated there are about 50 people on the compound. The
three children removed last month are believed to have been the only
minors there.

Note: He can always use the insanity plea saying: "Pussy just makes me
crazy"

More info:
Bent, who goes by the name of Michael Travesser and claims to be the
Messiah, is the leader of The Lord Our Righteousness Church...
Loved this part: "he will do what God instructs him to do."

Another religious fundamentalist nut case behind bars.
Remember Warren Jeffs and his Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints?
What is is about fundies having sex with young girls?

(watch as DILV dreams up some religious excuse for their behavior)
