Re: Creationism
'Faith is required to believe in gods in the total absence of any
credible evidence for their existence. Not believing in gods
requires no faith whatsoever.'
REPLY: Both Theism and Atheism require FAITH because neither can be
reproduced and no one was there at the very beginning. My faith based
on reason and rationality that every highly complex design to accomplish
a narrow purpose ALWAYS requires intelligence behind it -- a Mind, a
Will, and ability to make the design. Your faith is based on the
ludicrous desperation that NOTHING can produce highly complex designs ,
or, MATERIALS THEMSELVES can do it without any intelligence whatsoever.
You dont have that sort of faith David ; no one on earth ever has, so,
it is a willful charade covering for a personal ulterior motive and not
based on reason, rationale, or science.
'While we may not yet know the precise way in which living forms on
earth first emerged an imaginary creator does not provide an answer.'
REPLY: You dont know how it arrived , but you DO know it must not be
from a personal Creator . This is the sort of biggotted reply which
indicates your mind is already made up and you are not an honest open
minded Seeker. This too is based on a personal ulterior motive.
'We do however, know that far from everything being created it evolved
over many millions of years. '
REPLY: How did personality traits such as love, rationalizing,
reasoning, abstract thinking evolve from non personal Materials (dirt,
gases, rocks, planets, et al). ? By what mechanism or evolutionary
process did new information appear in the genome of a cell making macro
evolution viable ? How is our solar system millions of years old when
far less time than that, our sun would have been touching the earth in
addition to our moon ?
'That some people have been unable to progress beyond a Stone Age myth
or grasp the elements of the evolutionary process is very sad.'
REPLY: That some people have been unable to progress beyond an
unwillingness to examine the evidence for the Bibles credibility / for a
personal Theistic Creator based solely on a personal philosophical bias
to maintain a personal ulterior motive , is indeed very sad (because it
shows that such a person isnt truly concerned about truth and only wants
his ulterior motive maintained).
