Creationism
How stupid do you have to be to think that the myth of the creation in
Genesis is anything more than a myth? I think close to being
clinically insane but we seem to have such a person publishing his
infantile ideas in this newsgroup.

REPLY: Its because your immense desire to not have anyone tell you
how to live so you can have maximum entitlement thru lifestyle choices
without moral culpability, is so important to you, that, youre
willing to pretend youre an 'atheist' (when youre not).

And it is not possible to be more stupid than than that!
The idiot seems to think that we are atheists because we want to live
our lives free of the constraints that his beliefs impose on him. I
suppose it is too difficult for him to grasp that we are atheists solely
because we do not believe in his imaginary god!

REPLY: You want to live your life with max. entitlement toward
whatever lifestyle choices you make . And you dont want any
interference from anyone...especially an infinite moral personal
Creator. This is what being an atheist is all about from a
philosophical standpoint ; no one is really an atheist because no one
truly has the sort of FAITH that is required ; I know you do NOT
have the faith needed to really believe Nothing brought a personal/
intelligent Universe into being ...nor a 206 bone human being with a
brain and personality traits coming from rocks/dirt/gas/and planets.
You may think you are that ludicrous, but i sure dont :)

Re: Creationism
Faith is required to believe in gods in the total absence of any
credible evidence for their existence. Not believing in gods requires
no faith whatsoever. While we may not yet know the precise way in which
living forms on earth first emerged an imaginary creator does not
provide an answer. We do however, know that far from everything being
created it evolved over many millions of years. That some people have
been unable to progress beyond a Stone Age myth or grasp the elements of
the evolutionary process is very sad.

You don't actually believe that anything you're said has sunk thru a
certain idiot's thick skull?

Well, even it it does it'll only encounter the skull on the other side after
bouncing around an empty space for a while. Sometimes I wonder whether there
isn't an element of mental illness involved with certain people, whose
fundamentalism is on the lunatic fringe of insanity.
Sad case.

"Once we can look at religion objectively and impartially, it becomes
entirely obvious that religion has all the characteristics of a form of
insanity. To one degree or another the religious mind must accept, and
believe in, another world; a supernatural or unnatural world, a world
filled with all sorts of imaginary beings called gods, devils, angels,
saints, demons, etc. These imaginary creatures are talked to, asked for
favors, guidance, "signs", or miracles, and then blamed or thanked for
natural events that follow. Except for the cloak of religion, such
beliefs and actions would otherwise cause an individual to be judged
insane, and committed to an institution for treatment." -Emmet F. Fields

Sure you've seen this B4:Compulsive Delusionary Behaviour
"A very strong case can be made that many of the steadfastly-
religiously-convinced are actually mentally ill. The pleasant
escape from reality that they so often indulge in is no
more than the escape psychotics experience when they seek
refuge from reality in a delusional dreamworld of imaginary
beliefs."
(DSM III-R is the official catalogue of mental illness by the
American
Psychiatric Association)
They, (prime examples being Lenny, Hammond, Dimwit and now the Pahu78
creatioNUT) also suffer from OCB's. They keep repeating this same
behavior over and over again, regardless of being shown the utter
ridiculousness and irrationality of their beliefs
