Ah but now you are moving from 'what people believe' to 'what people do
because of what they believe' which are two different things. My mother
for eg is a creationist, but I don't particularly care since she is not
in a position to do anything with that. In NZ the xian parties she can
vote for are so poorly supported they cannot get anyone into parliament
under PR.

Would that the USA was like that.

When I emigrated there from Manchester in 1989, I never expected it to
be  this bad. But they had lawsuits over creationism even in Silicon
Valley dormitory suburbs.
