EL CAJON, Calif. -- A 21-year-old East County woman who was reported
missing this week may have been abducted by her estranged boyfriend,
El Cajon police said Friday.

Frances Agan of El Cajon disappeared sometime between 11 p.m.
Wednesday and 1:30 Thursday morning, when a family member discovered
her absence from their El Rey Court home, according to police.

Agan's personal possessions, including her purse and cell phone, were
still in her room at the residence, Lt. Tim Henton said.

Initially, it appeared that the house had not been forcibly entered,
Henton said. Later in the morning, however, someone noticed that a
window screen had been cut, possibly allowing an intruder to enter, he
said.

Detectives have been unable to locate her boyfriend, 20-year-old
Maynard Whitfield, but Agan's Ford Ranger pickup truck was found last
night on Struedle Court in San Diego, near Whitfield's home, according
to police.

Agan reportedly tried recently to break up with Whitfield, who
allegedly kidnapped her once before.
