Always loved those guys. Codex is the best love song in history. Tried to
get them into the studio for a live interview when I was doing student
radio. Got a phone call two hours before the show (at 7pm) and they told
me they were in Manchester and still suffering from hangovers, and asked
did I still want them to try and get to the interview. I just recorded an
apology off the phone. The perfect rock and roll interview. "Sorry, we
can't make it, we are two hundred miles away and completely out of our
skulls."

I think I'd choose Departure by Ben Watt. Also one of the best riffs ever -
just (just?) simple repeated guitar harmonics.

So, what's your favourite love song?

Finally found it on the web:

http://www.ilike.com/artist/Ben+Watt/track/Departure

It says that it's a clip, but as the song only lasts about 1:30, you get
the whole thing.

There is no reason, so far as I can see, and so far as science and logic
suggest, to even consider the existence of a god.

Great song - great man. His latest album is wonderful. If you haven't got
it, grab a copy of Soft Machine - Live At The Proms from Amazon (sadly it's
out of print, so a bit pricey). Probably their best album. Mike Ratledge is
on blinding form.

Whenever people say 'we mustn't be sentimental,' you can take it
they are about to do something cruel. And if they add, 'we must
be realistic,' they mean they are going to make money out of it.

"Spaced" is amazing.

Do you know why Indian rain dances always worked?
Because the Indians would keep dancing until it rained.
