Second play I directed was Butley. A lot of fun. We set up a corner of a 
large room as a studio theatre and built a replica academic's office. The 
set dressing was so good that the day of the dress rehearsal the cleaners 
came in and cleaned and tidied it all up.

An ex boss used to work in an open-plan office, where his team were almost
entirely surrounded by the backs of cupboards. So they wallpapered them,
and brought in a standard lamp. This was HMC&E - a great place to work
(except for the wages).

Hopefully the Beeb will re-show the documentary on Simon Gray, which is
what got me into his books.
