DNS problems
Can anyone get to:

http://www.bagatellen.com/

I've tried directly, and via an anonymizing proxy. However
http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ says the site is up.

I've got both his DVDs - brilliant. A colleague saw one of his live shows.
He talked about Star Trek for two hours.

OpenDNS can't find it.

Nameserver trace for www.bagatellen.com:

b.root-servers.net.
    * Looking for who is responsible for com and followed
j.gtld-servers.net.
    * Looking for who is responsible for bagatellen.com and followed

Curious. The WHOIS is fine. Just emailed the admin. The reason I tried to
there was an RSS feed that I got overnight.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the latest DNS vulnerability
that they're all shouting about.

I've checked Zen's DNS, and it's fine, unless the test doesn't cover the
latest problem.

Recently I was using hotel Wi-Fi, after a few days with no problems I
started getting certificate errors at log-on, where domain names didn't
match the certificate provider's names. Querying this with the provider
I was assured that it was fine and normal (sic) and to just click "OK",
I asked if this was safe to do and was repeatedly assured it was, I then
asked if they would guarantee that this was 100% safe to do, at which
point I was immediately offered a refund. Whether the problem was
anything to do with DNS hi-jacking, or more likely with some botched
remedial work, I don't know.

I've just checked OpenDNS (which I'm now using); it checks out "great"
on both counts, which is more than Orangehome DNS did when I checked
it the other day. Actually, that was my main reason for switching to
OpenDNS and as a bonus it seems quite a bit faster than I'm used to,
at least it is when I've visited the site in question at least once.
They claim to have a big cache, I guess that's what does it.

Cite please. I'm a bit miffed to hear that, I was pleased with them;
do you know of another good alternative, August? Anyone?

I don't know; it might have been an honest fuck-up (but I don't think
so) and I dodn't like the fact that they've clearly got the ability to
dick with the DNS.

Quite. Your recommended alternatives seem very fast, ta!
