I think I'm getting old
I mentioned the server failure, I think. So now I know why the IBM
drives get called "Deathstars". I've rebuilt the server and decided to
go for IMAP this time around.

All working except Outhouse Express doesn't want to play, it seems to
insist on plain-text passwords or some weird fucked-up encryption I
don't understand.

Anyhow my thought went on the lines of "turn on plain text passwords on
the server" nah that's stupid. Ditch Outlook Express on the clients and
install Blunderbird. Yep. So that's installing and copying
addressbooks/messages at the moment.

Then I started to edit the config file to allow plain text passwords on
the server.

I woke up just before saving the config file. I'm definitely losing it
though. Is it time for my pill?

I just had my afternoon pill. It hasn't helped yet.
I'd likely be better not taking it, and drinking.

Heh, I race you to the Camber. Oh hang on no better make that *away*
from the Camber. No hang on that doesn't work either.

One way makes it look like it's a race towards the prossys the other as
if one is trying to get away without paying the bill.

The old MTA was qmail the replacement is postfix. There's really not
much to choose between them. OK one comes with too much DJB for anyone's
liking but as far as configuration goes both suck.

What I don't like is the feeling that no matter how careful one is that
one may have cocked up and created an open relay by dint of forgetting
something.
