Okay. Hold onto your principles and prepare for a shock. As I
suspected Jim Follett was telling the truth when he said that he did
not write his Wiki entry. It may have been written by a well-known
Wikipedian M Lee (talk). Jim Follett was also telling truth when he
said that he corrected errors on several occasions.
Wikipedia have also confirmed that the copyright infringement of Jim
Follett's work (I don't have the full details of what the infringment
was) was removed at the request of a publisher's lawyer without any
reference to Jim Follett, without his knowledge, and without any
history of the removal appearing on Wiki. So much for the wild claims
that have appeared on uk.misc about Wiki not being responisible for
entries, not assuming responisibility for them, not modifying them,
and not accepting legal culcability for the content of their
publication. Seems that they do all three.
Also Jim Follett did not write the Wiki 'Earthsearch' entry. In fact
he didn't even know it existed until I told him. He's made a tiny
correction to it which ought to send Steve, JAF and other leaders of
the uk.misc lie machine into a feeding frenzy.
Cross post set to demon.local because I think he reads there, or did.
He's not answering emails at the moment so he could be away.

Brilliant!
Do you reckon he answers the door wearing a false moustache, saying "no,
Jim can't come out to play today"?

What "he" couldn't quite bring himself to admit was that he had *edited*
the Wikipedia entry. Nobody ever said that he wrote the original. But
when somebody pointed out that he had edited it, he started blethering
on about "writing to the editors".

Nobody said JF wrote the wiki entry. JF denied correcting entries. Do

"When I built and setup Allison's computer last year, as bits and pieces
were arriving sporadically and time was pressing before the Bibury meet,
I used an older 'test-bed' machine of mine to setup the system and then
clone it onto her machine when it was all ready to accept it. Everything
was setup correctly - this also included setting a POP3 password so that
she would be able to receive mail should there be problems with
mailkicks via SMTP, or should she wish to choose this method. I do also
recall explaining this and indeed asking her what password she'd like
for this - something I've now long since forgot.
Towards the middle of January this year my hairdresser, Richard, asked
for my help in sorting his Internet stuff out on his computer, having a
problem with his email. I can recall quite vividly how I was on the
phone to him late one night asking him for his details to enter into
Outlook (also setup on the same test-bed used above, when my bleeper
went off. I had to therefore end that call there and then and upon
checking found I'd got an RTA to go to in the middle of nowhere.
Returning from that later on, said test-bed machine was on-line, having
automatically connected to my account via a timed connection. Whilst
online, Outlook had also 'kindly' checked for email - using the details
for Allison's machine which I'd forgotten were still setup (When setting
her machine up, I did toy with the idea of giving her another choice as
well as Tripnuke - you will know my 'hatred' of large buttons....).
That, is how a couple of emails came to be inadvertently downloaded
here."
- Neil Barker explaining in d.l just how he managed to happen
across emails belonging to someone else. (He never managed to
explain how he happened to forward them same emails to his
partner-in-crime John Kaye.)

Aarrrgh, Fuck Off, Squire Follett. It do look like that apoplexy attack
really did short circuit your memory 'cos your Blind Richard sock was
exposed last year when he was still using the Redhill address long after it
closed down. You weren't to know though, were you, Jimbo, 'cos you lost
track of everything following your apoplectic fit.
Do try harder, Follett.

Aarrrgh, this Blind Richard fellow keeps a-poppin' out o' Squire Follett's
sock drawer every time Follet thinks his arguments (lies) need a bit of
support. They have quite an interesting history between 'em, popping up in
all sorts of newsgroups over the years, never ever to post a single thing on
topic, but just to reprimand assorted long time posters for failing to post
in the standard according to Follett.
He blew it last year with his Blind Richard sock but I expect he forgot
about that following his stroke. With a bit o' luck his next fit will see
him off. Meantime - null pointes!
Some posts to Follett/Richards:
"James, nice try with the intellectual intimidation and although I respect
the extensive knowledge you often display in this group, your presentation
and netiquette SUCK! The guy has a point. you may be clever but that doesn't
give you the right to be a biggoted, know-it-all ASSHOLE like Andy Luckman
is."
"This type of post is exaclty what makes you so damned popular! May I ask
how you cope with life as an after birth?"
"'From This Newsgroup:
"
"James, i have a question for you. Why are you using this newsgroup? I have
looked back through every post for the last month, and you have not
contributed anything interesting or helpful to this newsgroup, except for
snide comments about topposting and spelling & grammer."
"Are you as bloody annoying and pedantic a person in life, as you are on
here, if so then I hope someone kicks your fucking face in one day."
"What I find laughable is that you seem more concerned about top posting
than about discussion itself. You made a big fuss about one top post."
"Your last paragragh was windy humbug. My argument isn't flimsy either; you
ARE demonstrably anal and petty regarding usenet posts."
"If you were honest, my dear James, you would know that the above was
exactly what you were doing: trying to get on the moral highground and give
a big headmasterly lecture on Usenet duty."
"Down, James, down. Take deep breaths and think calm thoughts."
"I laughed out loud at your reply JF ,you are trully fucking barking mad."
"God there are some petty, anally retentive cunts in the world- it takes
something like a top post to bring 'em out. Nothing to say about the very
serious matter under discussion, natch."
"Maybe my Lord. But I think that petty and anally retentive are about right
for someone who would always rather comment on top posting and newsreading
packages than comment on what is actually being said. You'll notice I never
bothered mention your roaring snobbery--and you never miss a chance to
indulge that. That was the first time in a bloody long time that I've
top-posted but you were on it like a rat up a drainpipe, or rather, a
pedantic sixthformer with blue balls."
"No I'm not: on one occasion I top post you make such a song and dance about
it--as you do elsewhere--that the pejoratives anal rententive and petty are
well deserved. It was an error; but there you go making a full scale court
case out of it, which glaringly advertises a complete lack of proportion in
these matters."
"Anal-retentive: adjective (of a person) excessively orderly and fussy
(supposedly owing to conflict over toilet training in infancy). ~ Oxford
English Dictionary - The first part is bang-on in repsect to your Usenet
behaviour (you bray at grammatical errors and spelling mistakes and then
blithely commit them yourself."
"It says what it says: I think you are petty and anally retentive about
newsgroup postings."

I couldn't think what the dumb cuntwit is whibbling about. Then I
remembered. Last year he was trumpetting about his knowledge of usenet
saying that Follett could not have been posting to usenet 25 years ago
because it didn't exist that long ago. Duh... This from a shaghead who
can't even get the acronym ROFL right! A simple four letter acronym

So a little prank was played on him to see just how stupid he could be
and he didn't let us down. With the help of a friend who undertstands
such things, I sent a usenet post using Follett's Demon IP. For
reasons I don't understand it had to be done with a direct cable
connection and it has to done with Windows XP/SP2. It doesn't work
with Vista. All this was explained to him but he didn't understand.
And for the biggest socket set on usenet to complain about socket sets
is just funny. I'd better not tell him that my flat is owned by the
RNIB. Cerebral overload although he might swallow my telling him that
the rent is collected by men in black helicopters.

You're evidently an astute politician, whoever you are: you set up a
series of strawmen based on claims no-one made, and triumphantly refute
them, all the time dodging around the real issue.

It's the way you tell 'em, James. A "famous" author like yourself not only
produces a turgid stool of pulp fiction, he also produces a very
recognisable Usenet posting style and this is carried over every time in
your Blind Richard sock posts - see above. All your waffle about "using
Follett's Demon IP" will not hide the fact that you made the cardinal error
of a would be sock. You forgot to change the settings and showed to all
reading the post in question just how much of a liar James Follett is.
Take the easy route like wot I do - just change your posting name and email
every now and again and bypass Tony Wright's famous Killfile Recipes!
Thanks, Tony!

"I've now had a chance to read the appropriate section in Mr Follett's
draft Tavvie paper on hate. I've been asked to referee some parts of
the paper on group dynamics and have decided to volunteer a few
comments on the interesting behaviour of his Easynews stalker. I've
submitted my findings to Mr Follett. As soon as I have his permission
to reproduce my comments I'll be pleased to do so on some Usenet
newsgroups where regular contributors may be puzzled by the stalker's
seeming compulsive obsession with Mr. Follett and , to a lesser extent
with Mr. Dave Pepper -- a frequent contributor to the surrey newsgroup
in the uk hierachy."

The common--or "garden"--variety of fucktard prefers sandy, loose soil.
The robustness of our substrate would soon choke-out such tender-rooted ilk.
