Giving blood should be compulsory

Giving blood should be compulsory
http://www.votivation.com/opinion.php?opinion_id=1630

I think that: Everybody should have to give blood at least once a year (unless they have medical conditions or other factors which prevent them from doing so).
Because: Millions of people do not give blood, yet expect to receive it when they are ill. If ever there wasn't enough blood to help people, there would be absolute uproar nationwide. We assume there will always be enough, but this may not be the case. It takes very little time, doesn't cost anything and saves lives!
