Greedy bastards MP's again.
A jobseeker is required by law to look for work within 1.5 hours travelling
distance from home. No fuckin expenses at all
Fuckin cuntin MP's expect to get all expenses paid if they have to travel
for more than 1 hour to work, to sit on their arses doing fuck all.
In response to getting free second homes, they say it will cost the tax
payers more if they have to rent in Westminster, average rent being£700 pcm.
Arseholes do not have to rent properties next to the houses of parliament,
maybe they will realise that the minimum wage is not worth a fuck. Maybe
they will consider sharing as they never stay in one place for more than 5
minutes.

No employer is required to give expenses for travelling to and from
normal place of work.
Why don't we make that the case for MPs? Fair enough if, like other
employees, they have to go elsewhere on a particular day. The common
practice used by other organisations
is to pay expenses for travel beyond what would be paid out by the
person to get to normal place of work.
eg if travelling another 50 miles past workplace, give 50 miles
expenses.
If travelling on the route to work but stopping 10 miles before
getting there then no expenses due.
Here's an idea. Have a prupose built place or a converted place within
bus/bike distance of parliament. Stick all MPs who want to stay
overnight in London in there.
Owned by parliament, run by parliament staff, MPs bed covered but
charge for bar/breakfast/meal bill.

FFS like they couldnt find Big Ben in the middle of London, and if they all
did get blown up, so what. Assholes like that are 10 a penny, its not like
there is a shortage of fraudsters to replace them. And if you want to find
individual MP's, look up their office addresse, most people will know their
MP's home addresses, a postman for eg, or hang around any branch of John
Lewis and you will see them spending yet more dodgy expenses ;)

Sod that, we can do it ourselves.
Don' need no stinkin foreigners doings ourz jobz - like blowing up
parliament.
By tradition thats a British job. :)
Seriously, it would remove the need for them to have allowances for
accomodation at all. And with each given the same type of room, fairly
basic, if they want better they can pay for a hotel room themselves.

Sounds like you are the snob - many labour MPs are far from 'working
class' and if even if they were once they seem to dig their nose in the
trough just as deeply.
Bearing in mind many MPs live in london five days a week for years on
end expecting them to live in a glorified B+B or hotel for years is
unrealistic. Reasoanble capped expenses should be allowed for
accomodation. Limited one off expenses for furniture as well and no
claimds for food, bath plugs dressing gowns, TV porn, duckhouses, moat
clearance or gardens.
They have a home address and no flipping allowed. If they declare London
(or within an hour and a half) as their permanent address when they are
elected then no housing expenses at all. If they choose to move away
then that's their choice.

Whats so unrealistic about them staying in a glorified B&B?
Letting them buy a house in the capital and claim expenses for it
turned out to be unrealistic for some. The job is for up to 5 years at
a time, with long holidays compared to many jobs.
Even a basic hotel style room would give them a place to sleep.
Working can be done in their own office at parliament.

As MPs serve at least four years and many for decades longer expecting
them to just sleep and work is not realistic. A rented and modestly
furnished flat is reasonable when they will be there 5 days pw for years.
If they want more (e.g a family home) they can move to London or at
least close enough to commute at their own expense.

FYI - civil servants working on long term projects away from home have a
fixed hsing allowance which has to cover everything. Last time i
claimed (15 years ago) it was about £120pw. About the cost of a REALLY
cheap B&B where I was living.
I could only afford a decent flat by sharing with a colleague.

A paid for and modestly furnished hotel room is also something they
can live with.
If they want more they can choose to pay themselves out of their own
pocket. No-one said that they wouldn't have to give up anything to be
an MP.
Even such things as 'modestly furnished' might be open to
interpretation by some of these thieves.
They'd still be claiming all this if they hadn't been caught out.

I used to work with a guy who lived in Telford and worked in
Birmingham. Due to the shift pattern he found it easier to have a long
term contract with a local small hotel for £10 a night for B & B -
better rate because of long term agreement and he didn't have to spend
2 hours a day and a lot of petrol to drive home. Probably would cost
him £10 or more a day in petrol alone to get home on many days.
Worked for him - 8am really isn't the ideal time to try the M6 near
Brum after the end of a shift.
Most I've ever stayed in a B & B was for a 4 week contract in London.
Rate then (7 years ago) was £13 a night in Earls Court.
