New JSA Claim
I'm making a fresh claim for JSA (unfortauntely - but it beats
starving to death). I last claimed 6 months ago; have there been any
changes to the system/legislation since then that i shoudl know about?
Last time for instance they had dropped paying people's bus fares when
coming in for appointments that weren't regular signing times.

Well, they now allow volunteers to get expenses without cutting
benefit.
Thats fairly recent (or implementation is fairly recent).

why would expenses affect benefit claims? They never used to (mind you
that was a decade ago when i did volunteer work).

The jobcentre got a bit bolshy about them a few years ago, took quite
a bit of pressure on government to get it accepted as OK.
Expenses can of course include lunch payments these days, so that may
have had something to do with it.

Bit of a difference making lunch at home compared to being at what is
effectively work (albeit unpaid) and having lunch. Though can always
take butties from home. :)
