Be a pornstar thanks to the Jobcentre!
Don't know if this link works, but [URL="http://
www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/Internet/viewVacancy.do?selectedVacancy=8&ref=CFB/128648"]this
s an advert for a 'webcam performer'. If the link doesn't work try
typing in the advert code at the [URL="http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/
Internet/jobGroup.do?action=new"]jobcentre website (CFB/128648).

Hey it's the 21st century after all and if you're down on your luck
now you can be forced to apply for porno work thanks to our lords and
masters!

Have you seen this, the fat cats who were running this are to get paid
millions of £'ds of tax payers money as a pay off for totally fucking up our
transport system. And they didnt even do a days work between them.

This is the type of job you can get when you contribute cash to our
political masters. No corruption here of course.

I hear the perks of the job aren't bad, neither is the pay.
Anything else is up to the individual. Is it somehow any different
from giving an employer so much of your time and effort for money in
other jobs?
Perhaps something demeaning like ringing people who have just had a
mortgage offering them a remortgage at higher rates?

Sorry, wasn't aware they are required or even allowed to care.
I was under the impression they were there to apply the law relating
to benefits they deal with and an access point for jobs advertised
through them.

I'm not the one running society. Humans will do an amazing variety of
things for money, often on a regular basis. But for money, not always
volunterily.
However I don't think that 'caring' is something thats currently
legislated for in most laws.
No money in the budget for it. Even 'customer service' can have wildly
variable applications.

If you look at the Jobcentre PR blurb you will see that they give the

It disgusting that jobs like are being advertised through jobcentres.
It actually contradicts government thinking on the issue. The
government is considering banning the advertising of newspapers
adverts of this type so its wrong that a governemnt agency should
feature vacancies of this type.

This story has appeared in the past, going back years to the 1990s - I
agree it shouldn't be advertised. Plus I wonder why the jobcentre take
the advert when it is blatantly discriminatory - it only applies to
women. Could you imagine advertising a job that only applies to men?

The job isn't exempt under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 so why are
they allowing it to be advertised in the first place? One rule for women?

There are ways round the sex discrimination act. When only people of
one sex can do the job.
You wouldn't advertise for a male wet-nurse, neither would you
advertise for female sperm donors.
If you need actors for a production, you don't advertise for actresses
as well.

There's also the common way of advertising for a job and then not
actually giving it to someone of the wrong sex.

well some jobs are limited by biology, but jobs advertised at the
jobcentre shouldn't be carrying those unless they are genuinely exempt
under sex discrimination laws. A prostitute (or escort) doesn't have
such a limitation and therefore shouldn't be advertised unless they can
prove it is exempt.

That said, if I did wish to make use of the service and I was expecting
a woman I wouldn't expect a hairy bollocked bloke to turn up!

JCP got taken to court for refusing to carry an advert for ann summers
and lost. The judgement was nothing to do with business of the
company, merely that it was legal and therefore entitled to use the
job broking facilities offered by a gov.agency in exactly the same way
as any other legitimate business.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2999892.stm

As long as the webcam company is legit and it's performances are legal
then JCP cannot refuse to carry the advert.

I wonder how the advisors will handle this, I mean some fugly heffer
comes up and asks for details, do you pass them on or do you try and
steer them towards a more suitable job. Perhaps they'd like to use
the local jobcentres facilities for their interviews .....

You can have male prsotitutes too. And male escorts.
Many agencies carry both, and our red light districts often has both
out.
But what was advertised was webcam work? Hardly in the same category
as being on the street corner. Pay isn't as much either, though risks
are a lot lower.

A place that only uses female escorts would be able to claim
exemption, I would have thought. Though from what I understand, most
agencies don't employ the escorts, they are merely contracting to
supply web and phone services.
