Enquiring on behalf of a pal (63). His wife (58) has suspected 
Hepatitis B and MRSA - her condition is not good and she needs

per week for a single person £181.70 for a married couple.
I'm not sure if that applies owing to his wife's age.

However for any savings he has over £6000 they will deduct a certain
amount up to a maximum over which he's not entitled to anything.

If he/his wife have other income/lots of savings, a claim to
Incapacity Benfit may be beneficial as it's not means tested.  Also if
he has a mortgage Pension Credit may be able to help, if it's rented
Hsg and council tax benefits.  All of course subject to income and
savings of them both.

Incapacity Benfit may be beneficial as it's not means tested.  Also if
he has a mortgage Pension Credit may be able to help, if it's rented
Hsg and council tax benefits.  All of course subject to income and
savings of them both.
