Bury St Edmunds has been the centre of a major fight against the
development called the Cattle Market that protesters say would destroy
the character of the town. The planners on St Edmundsbury Borough
Council ignored the protesters so plans for the development went
forward.

Enter the guardians of Bury St Edmunds, the Knights of St Edmund who
placed a curse upon the councillors of St Edmundsbury for supporting
the development on St Edmunds Day, 20th November 2005.
