Your council's chief executive?
http://oldham-chronicle.co.uk/NEWSW05.html
A JOB advert in today’s Guardian is the first step in a recruitment
campaign to fill the shoes of outgoing Oldham Council chief executive
Andrew Kilburn.

The £172,000-a-year role is being advertised as Mr Kilburn prepares to
head south to take up the same position in Waltham Forest.

Are they paid that much?

Some are paid more. Given they are running billion pound businesses, what
do you expect?
