The first letter has arrived........
Hello,

The letter has arrived and the forms are in there asking me to complete them
within 7 days.

If I do not fill this out or call them what will they do? Now I know they
will eventually get to the stage where they contact your employer but what
are the steps and timescales? Will they send a new form out, then try to
call, then make an interim assessment???

Please don't reply with a guess but if you do know and could give me
timescales then that would be great.

I have been paying for over 8 years every month direct into her bank and now
this!! She got peed off over something so starts a case. (I know she is not
on benefits).

I thought the CSA was being scapped anyway??? When is that likely to happen?
What are they going to replace it with?

Thanks

Re: The first letter has arrived........
CSA is not being scrapped, it's changing it's name to C-MEC and they are
being given more powers to club you with.

Do not fail to complete the paperwork, they will have you in court if you do
and you will be fined up to £1000,00

Do not tell lies on the paperwork either or the same applies.

They will make an interim assessment which will be VERY high if you fail to
comply, this figure will become your arrears and its unlikly they'll
readjust it.

Once that's in place they will tell you an amount and when they expect you
to start paying, that used to give you a couple of months 'grace' if you
complied with the 7 day notice but that might have changed.

Once you have these details it's upto you whether you pay or not, if your
employed and fail to pay they apply for a DEO taking both payment and a
contribution towards any arrears you've accumulated which can be up to
%40.00 of you net take-home pay.

Do NOT pay anything further to your Ex, if she wants to play hard ball it
starts now and as CSA have sent you the papers your now on CSA books. Should
you ignore this and fail to get a reciept for any money which cleasrly
states 'for Child Suport' you will pay twice.

If you choose not to pay you need to either become self employed or
emigrate.
