I Need Help For Servicing My EX...
My name is Erick and I am having a problem servicing my ex-wife--that
moved to the UK. I live in the USA and I am not a UK citizen. My
child's mother has token my child to the UK and I am currently filing
a motion in the US for my child's return. According to US law, she
must sign stating she recieved the court documents. I have the address
where she is staying, but I will need either the postal service to
have her sign for the papers and the recipt sent to me; or have a
agent/agency to service her and sign that she recieved it. I no
nothing about the law in the UK. Can someone point me in the right
direction?

Either a Recorded Delivery letter or Bailiffs/Sherriff's Officers will
be needed.
I recommend engaging a UK firm of solicitors to serve the papers on your
behalf. It'll cost $500 (guess) but give you a guarantee of service.
If she lives in Scotland, you will need a Scottish firm, as the law is
slightly different.

Re: I Need Help For Servicing My EX...
Lawyers are leeches so don't waste your money.
If she's done a runner with your kid to the uk then your chances of getting
anything done here are about ZERO, so honestly, don't waste your money, the
courts here do not take any action at all against mothers that defy the UK
law in child access cases so American law will just be ignored.
For further information about these type of situations contact Father for
Justice, they know all the facts concerning access issues
