Advertising worth thousands of pounds
Sorry, the title isn't about the usual spam you get.
Instead its about the following story, reported in the Third Sector
news and on its website.
The image is perhaps saying 'I've got a great big Willy' but one
person used it for advertising of a different sort.
Paper round
Third Sector, 5 September 2007
A Fathers 4 Justice sympathiser is thought to be responsible for
defacing Dorset's Cerne Abbas Giant by painting its penis purple.
The Dorset Daily Echo reported that a mystery vandal targeted the
historic chalk carving of a naked man carrying a club. The National
Trust-owned landmark is 180ft high and the penis alone measures 40ft,
requiring a considerable amount of purple paint.
The culprit, who described himself as the west country's "Purple
Phantom" also scrawled the words: "Read Family Court Hell" beside the
giant, a reference to a recently published book by Mark Harris, a F4J
campaigner.
