Advice needed
Where to start ...
Well my ex girlfriend and I had a baby whos one years old now. The csa \ job
centre have contacted her about my details which she is refusing to provide.
As we have a verbal agreement between her and I and I pay her every week in
cash so we don't see the need for an agency to get involved (is that nieve
thinking?) ... that phoned her today requesting an interview where they will
discuss her failure to give any details and reduce her benefit by 40% ... I
have been made redundant recently and have just starting claiming benefits.
I have no problem with paying for my children, but as we have an agreement
between us can they really do this ?
I told her it might be a lot less head ache to provide my details ?
If she gives them my details what happens next ? will they take the money
out of my benefits directly.
Is there anyway to get them out of our lives ? (this is causing her so much
upset!)
Appreciate any advice.

It's a Job Centre Plus thing, CSA won't be involved until Job Centre Plus
complete what's called CS1 action and pass it across to CSA.
If you're on benefits yourself, it'll be a straight £5 per week deduction
and it'll be taken directly from your benefits. It can take a while before
Job Centre Plus start taking it from you though...

If you were both working and didn't claim benefits and had a private
agreement the CSA would leave you alone.
Being on benefits means you are owned/chased/hounded by the state. I
think it is the parent with care (PWC) being on benefits that triggers
it - not the Non Resident Parent (you).

If you were both working and didn't claim benefits and had a private
agreement the CSA would leave you alone.
Being on benefits means you are owned/chased/hounded by the state. I
think it is the parent with care (PWC) being on benefits that triggers
it - not the Non Resident Parent (you).

Re: Advice needed

It's a Job Centre Plus thing, CSA won't be involved until Job Centre Plus
complete what's called CS1 action and pass it across to CSA.
If you're on benefits yourself, it'll be a straight £5 per week deduction
and it'll be taken directly from your benefits. It can take a while before
Job Centre Plus start taking it from you though...
