How I laughed
I recently changed jobs and ended up with an income slightly less than
my previous one, but with MUCH less stresses!
As I'd had a deduction from earnings order against me before the CSA
obviously found out about this change quite quickly and advised me
that it may be in my interest to be re-assessed. I duly sent off my
new employers details and copies of all of the other documents
requested and was reassessed £14 a week less than before.
Now, at just about the same time my patner applied for and got a new
post at work and received a rather hefty pay rise - almost doubled her
income. So, although MY earnings have educed, our household income has
increased somewhat. Under CSA 2 only MY income counts, so ulucky ex
missus... but with what I pay anyway, and my ex's income, £14 a week
makes bugger all difference to her.
Anyway, no sooner has the reassessment been sent out and my payments
adjusted than my ex decides to take the thing to appeal... well the
appeal process drags on and on for around 9 months then eventually I
get a thick wad of paperwork that says...
Dear Mr XX, Sorry, but we have made an error in our calculations of
your maintenance liability..
Oh oh, here we go again... It would seem like we over assessed you
and your payments should be slightly lower.. HA HA HA HA..
And all backdated to August last year.. 1st time I've heard of a
result FOR the NRP
