Monthly Ammounts
How do the CSA get from weekly accessments to monthly payments ?

They don't do the sensible :-
  ammount / 7 = daily
  daily * 365.25 = yearly
  yearly/12 = monthly

I was told on the phone "its complex, as years can have between 48 &
53 weeks", which is not the same as the calender I use.

Why cant they work in weeks, or days ?

I gust got 12 years of statment of account, its so full of this
monthly crap, the figures are all over the place.

Oh, and how do they get from a montly payslip to a weekly wage - I bet
its a different answer !!

Re: Monthly Ammounts
Monthly to weekly is £abc times 12 divided by 52

It's all based around the fact that everything is worked out on a weekly
basis for the likes of shared care.

Re: Monthly Ammounts
For CS2 the monthly account is worked out slightly differently. The
calculation will produce 1 monthly amount which is slightly different to the
remaining 11 months. Its worked out the same as your council tax, with 1
odd month and 11 equal monthly amounts. and the one odd month is calculated
depending on whether the case is under a 48 week year or 53 week year
(although how they come up with that is anyone's guess!)

For a standard 52 week year, you need to look at your weekly liability
calculated over a whole year. (ie x 52) Then you work out 4 x weekly
liability - take that away from the yearly amount - and divide the remaining
balance by 11.

I am sure there is some logical excuse as to why they go through this long
winded process.
