Prison 'Break In' Planned as F4J Declares Full-Scale 'War' Against CSA & Family Courts
Press Release
28th June 2007

Prison 'Break In' Planned as F4J Declares Full-Scale 'War' Against CSA &
Family Courts

Campaign group Fathers 4 Justice this morning announced its response to the
jailing of barrister Michael Cox who the group are describing as a 'prisoner
of conscience' and a 'Guantanamo Dad' after the father-of-five was sent down
at a secret hearing at Southampton Magistrates Court last Monday.

The group say that the u-turn over open family courts by the government
followed by the imprisonment of its barrister followed just hours later by
the naming and shaming of fathers on the CSA web site amounted to a
'declaration of war on fathers and fatherhood' by the government and that it
now had no choice but to withdraw from all dialogue with government
agencies.

Agencies which will be affected include: the Child Support Agency, The
Ministry for Justice, All Cafcass offices, Solicitors Offices, Family
Courts, Family Court Judges

Fathers 4 Justice this morning announced the following action and urges all
other groups to join the campaign in solidarity:

a.. Jailed barrister, Michael Cox's children to join protest and vigil
this Sunday 1st July at Horfield Prison Bristol in campaign for his release
after being locked up by the CSA. Starts at 11.00am - 1.00pm outside the
main gates - bring air horns, megaphones, whistles, purple flags, dress:
superheroes, prison gear

a.. Campaigners plan 'Prison Break In' at protest

a.. Planned visit to Downing Street next Tuesday in attempt to see the new
Prime Minister

a.. F4J launch of 'Free Michael Cox' campaign and web site
www.freemichaelcox.com this weekend

a.. F4J urges dads 'Don't Pay the CSA' after agency 'names and shames'
fathers on its web site

a.. The naming and shaming of all family court officials, solicitors and
Cafcass officers

a.. F4J urges 'National Boycott' of all Family Courts

a.. The entering of secret family court proceedings whilst in session

a.. Group urges peaceful non-violent direct action including 'purple door
painting' and 'sit ins' at CAFACASS AND CSA offices across country

a.. High profile action is imminent say activists

Said F4J Founder Matt O'Connor today, 'It is our moral duty to break the
law, to be guided by our conscience and a moral code defined by natural law
rather than man made law. Being denied access to your flesh and blood by
another person or the state violates your rights to parent that child, and
more significantly, violates that child's right to a relationship with both
its parents with all the devastating social consequences this entails.'

'I therefore implore everybody, man and woman, father and mother, brother
and sister to join our ministry of justice, to change these wretched laws,
to open wide the doors of the secret courts so that the world can see in and
hear the actions of those that purport to serve that most wicked of deceits:
'the child's best interests.'

'Michael Cox has led by example. He has shown us the path. He is a
father-of-five who defied the system and paid with his liberty. We must join
him on that journey. As individuals we can be denied. But together, the
force of humanity and love for our children will overcome the walls of
injustice and wash away the secrecy and division that separates good, loving
parents from the children they love. Let the work of change begin.'

F4J say that they hope to secure Mr Cox's release as soon as possible
without him having to serve the full 42 day sentence which magistrates said
he would serve.

Don't Pay the CSA Campaign Details

1.. Cancel all direct debits or standing orders. - To create chaos in CSA
department.
2.. Pay cheque direct to Resident Parent, so that financial burden is not
put on them or children, making sure that receipts and/or bank statements
are kept as proof.
3.. When the CSA 'get in touch', make all correspondence in 'yellow ink'.
This creates havoc, as the first thing they do is photocopy the letter and
you can't photocopy yellow ink! - They have to re type it!
4.. Insist that you then pay the CSA by cheque. This costs them £1 to
process. Do you pay one cheque at £100 or 50 cheques at £2.

An individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who
willingly accepts the penalty of prison in order to arouse the conscience of
the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest
respect for the law.

Will NACSA be telling the CSA that they won't be taking part in
'stakeholder' meetings? Shouldn't be much of a loss as they are a
charade anyway.

Fantastic news - this will hopefully be re-start the campaign we
should have been waging all the time - F4J are one of the most
successful campaigning groups this country has seen in recent years.
It's taken F4J a long time to officially throw it's weight behind the
campaign to scrap the CSA, and it's very welcome.

Stakeholder meetings have not taken place for quite some time now - we all
told them that they were a waste of time. We do get opportunity to meet with
Chief Ex's team every few months - which does prove to be useful.

Next time you meet up you can tell them we'll be looking very closly into
the lives of every member of that team, their assistants, secreteries and
clerical staff. If there is anything in there, were going to get to it.

Next time you meet up you can tell them we'll be looking very closly into
the lives of every member of that team, their assistants, secreteries and
clerical staff. If there is anything in there, were going to get to it.
