Two systems
Heard some debate on 5 live radio the other morning about the csa. There was
some Lord something or other on from the government going on about 'getting
tough' with absent fathers(never mothers you might note). A lot of the
debate however seemed to be about the two systems. Richard Bacon (presenter)
asked the Lord Twat directly if the two different systems were illegal with
the usual wriggling and squirming from the lord and blaming the computer
system. Is the fact that the law of the land is being decided on by a crap
computer system actually legal? You can guarantee there'd be uproar if the
tax system worked in the same way for identical circumstances - for example
if you left school before 2003 you can pay tax at 50% but if left school
after this date you'd only have to pay at 25%.

Re: Two systems
Oh yes - the computer system
The Computer Systerm on which MPs, Lords and Civil Servants in the CSA
blame the problem was commisioned by the very people who cite it as
useless. Some would say the competence of the computer mearly
reflects the competence of the Ministers and civil servants who bought
it, but then similarly 'not up to the job' computer systems were
bought for just about every other departmnent of goverment - so if any
one could be guarenteed to screw it up, it was them.
They can, and do, bleat on about useless fathers (by the goverment
definition that appears to be any father separated from the mother)
and a useless computer (that is any computer bought by the Goverment)
because it detracts attention away from the useless legislation they
made. If they spent as much time sorting it out as they do on making
Laws to keep exept themselves from the Freedom of Information Act,
give themselves above inflation pay rises, ensure they have one of the
best pensions systems there has ever been (whilst ignoring the
Ombudsmans scathing report on how they shafted other peoples pensions
schemes), witter on about global warming whist each runs several
houses and cars and take umpteen foreign holidays ... need more be
said?
Put another way, one weeks military expenditure on the war in Iraq
(justified by a cooked up 'dossier of convenience') would probably
cover a whole years child support payments. Yet the Goverment
apparently feels that money (our money) is better spent on bombs which
kill Iraqi mothers, fathers and children - as presumably it represents
a better form of child support, which rather shows New Labours policy
on child welfare for what it is, rather than what its ministers and
Lords try to spin it as.
