No need to repeal the Hunting Act
From the League Against Cruel Sports
"Tally ho for the scent of an oily rag!
Normally the hunters' PR machine is, I hate to acknowledge quite
effective. This year they got themselves in the most terrible tangle,
loads of egg on face and still digging.
As you would expect the hunters' boxing day message was, "more popular
than ever before, lots of new joiners" blah blah. Fascinating the
media said, so what's your problem then? If hunting is even more
popular now that you have taken the fox, deer and hare out of it, why
do you want to repeal the Hunting Act? They huffed, they puffed, but
they hadn't got an answer at all. They just descended into foxes and
farmers really need us to manage the countryside for them. Oh yes said
the commentators, same crowd as want to slaughter loads of badgers, we
know where you are coming from. Kill, kill and kill again, that seems
to be your only answer.
The politics of the hunters' Boxing Day farce will not be lost on MPs
and MSPs. It was one of those tipping points, when suddenly the
hunters' whole campaign descended into looking like a cartoon strip.
The hunters huffed and puffed, as they so often do, but there they
were having a jolly day out, full pack, local crowd, port and mince
pies, and proclaiming that hunts were in tip top form doing better
than ever. Hunting the live quarry was history, the oily rag was the
modern quarry and they were all the better for it. Oh yes said the MPs
and MSPs, we always said that would happen. Don't waste my precious
parliamentary time by asking for yet another vote in Parliament on
this, you clearly don't need it!!!!!"
Very good argument!

All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

England / Angelic Upstarts
The red in the flag is the blood that was spilt
In the way that your forefathers tell
And never a country has been so great
The stories Britannia could tell
I never want to live my life
Away from the golden shores
There's never a country in the world
With the scent of an English rose
England oh England a country so great
A land that's so fair and so true
There'll never be any colours like
The red the white and the blue
Whenever you go to a far off land
There's something goes with you
The pride and the joy and the love that comes
For your mother of red white and blue
You could never be born under a flag that's like
The one of the Union Jack
St.Georges spirit has never died
It all keeps coming back
