War of the Orange & Green in Tasmania 2007
Anyone else see a parallel between the Irish 'Orange and Green' and todays
pulp mill ravaged Tasmania? From what I have seen the mill supporters are
usually hoping to make money out of it and the mill opponents want to
preserve what they see as being lost. If the timber is coming from 'Crown
Land' then the mill opponents have as much right to be there as those
stealing the trees (albeit it 'legally') The situation is as much about
the neglect of any rational constitution and bill of rights as anything
else. Why should one company steal everybody elses trees on behalf of
their offshore investors and hope the rest of the nation doesn't notice?
Thats our life support system you clowns are stealing. The clock isn't
going to get turned back just for Gunns sake. We have as much right to
those trees as you do and we have decided to use them for our oxygen
supply.
