A Sad Day In History
We're all going to hell in a handbasket!

Remember when the Nobel prize meant something and we could all
look up it with awe and respect?

Sadly, now it appears that the loony left wing fringe has taken
over the Nobel committee and awarded the peace prize to a proven
lying and exaggerating hypocrite who won't even practice what he
preaches!

At least he's in good company, with other recipients being that
murdering terrorist Yassar Arafat and that corrupt UN official
Kofi Anan!

LOL when was that?

Back in 1973 they offered a Nobel peace prize to Le Duc Tho, North
Vietnamese representative at the Paris peace talks... after which
North Vietnam invaded the South and ignored the promise made to allow
South Vietnamese to choose their own future. The resulting Vietnamese
"boat people" crisis and the internal ethnic and political cleansing
in the South by the Communist invaders was one of the worst human
tragedies seen in the latter half of the 20th century (although
exceeded in scale by the genocide perpetrated by Marxists under Pol
Pot in neighbouring Cambodia).

To this day, 30 years after the North's invasion brought "peace" to
the country, Vietnam remains a poverty-stricken dictatorship that
persecutes people for any sign of dissent ... ie, it is just another
shining example of the destruction and terror Marxists inflict on the
human spirit EVERY TIME they have managed to grab power.

No before that ...

In a 1996 report by the UN on global warming, two statements were
deleted from the final draft. Here they are:
1. "None of the studies cited above has shown clear evidence that
we can attribute the observed climate changes to increases in
greenhouse gases."
2. "No study to date has positively attributed all or part of the
climate change to man-made causes"

So there are people still seeing "Marxists" under every bed, when others see
military dictatorships and junta's.
About what you would expect from the Fascists I guess.

You have been watching Faux TV again, Haven't you!

They are railing against the Nobel committee because Gore
dares to be critical about Bush.

The thing I love about the neo-Cons conspiracy theories is that
if you add up all the groups which they claim have fallen
into the hands of lefties, then Fran's revolution is just around the
next corner! B^D

Europe disagrees with American military imperialism, they are all
cheese eating surrender monkeys.. the UN, The Hague, Amnesty
international, .. any Human rights group, domestic or international,
which rightly condemns the invasion and destruction of Iraq, or
cluster bombing in Lebanon is declared persona no grata.

Trouble for Bush and the morons who follow him like Lemmings over
the cliff.. is that list now adds up to be most of the PLANET!

While the USSA has stupidly been making itself disliked, China
is slowly and patiently moving to centre stage.

It is a great pity, as i preferred American values, until they
started to abandon and pervert them.

Just document the changes to the Nobel Committee which would be
necessary to achieve this, or people will know you are simply
a bad sport, unable to accept that your views are losing ground
and you have resorted to being

In Australia the effective Climate change debate has been led
by the Business community, which is why Howard has climbed on
board.

Howard a leftie neo-marxist, Gramscian peacenik?

So?

The effect of a few thousand green ferals across the world
protesting is just a bit of minor Drama on TV.

The impetus for climate change debate in Australia is
THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY!

If they have all become lefties then it's time for you to
start humming the Internationale! B^D

"After a successful few years as a junior minister in
Malcolm Fraser's government, Howard was promoted to
treasury, where his five years in the job can only
be judged as an unmitigated failure.
Take a look at the statistics.

When Howard left the treasury in March 1983, the
budget deficit was forecast at $9.6 billion, inflation
was 11 per cent, unemployment was 10.2 per cent,
the economy was in recession with negative
0.4 per cent growth, and housing interest rates
were 13 per cent.

And, despite the 1982-83 recession being the worst
since the Great Depression, Howard still managed to
increase the federal tax take from 25.1 per cent of
GDP in 1977 to 27.5 per cent of GDP by 1982-83.

Howard then spent 13 years in opposition, during
which - when he wasn't leader himself - he spent
a lot of time conspiring against the three leaders
he served under: Andrew Peacock, John Hewson and
Alexander Downer."

AL WINS!
Media-shunning unsafe-for-children ecodunce Al Gore wins the
Nobel Peace Prize.

UPDATE. Al will lift the world:

"We face a true planetary emergency," Mr. Gore said in the
statement. "The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a
moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our
greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher
level."

Good luck with that.

UPDATE II. Al isn't in Oslo, possibly to spare himself the
embarrassment of collecting a prize for raising global warming
awareness while wearing four layers of clothing.

UPDATE III. Al is scary: "He's like a werewolf standing in front
of the moon, only instead he's in front of the earth playing God
again. Or maybe Jack Nicholson. Geez his tie even matches the
earth. They are so going steady."

Good luck distinguishing Marxists from Fascists, since they inevitably
employ the exact same totalitarian style of government to hold on to
power.

Here in Australia of course most Marxists have by now rebranded
themselves as members of "The Greens" to fool voters.

Ahahahahahahahahaha... Stupid KKKonservative KKKlown. A trendline skirts
across the top of the data leaving equal portions of the data above and
below. In this instane 10 dots above, and 14 below as a result of the crude
nature of ascii graphics. Nevertheless it represents the best line that can
be fitted to the data based on minimizing the square of the distance between
the line and the real data. It's called a least squares curve fit.

Oh, the ruling elites don't like it when their class-War sloganeering
is turned around to target those who are ACTUALLY
RUNNING THINGS! B^D

The only two SELF-IDENTIFYING Nazis in Usenet, Mosley and Stan Pierce,
were rusted on Liberal supporters! 8^o

Ralph demonstrates how they try and character assassinate political
critics by BRANDING THEM as communists.. B^D

He even goes to the absurd lengths of accusing them of being
're branded' communists! It's McCarthyism revived.. you don't have
to actually BE a communist for these slandering shitpigs to brand you
one.. and then no argument is required, you are simply untermensch!

Oppose the war in Iraq, Ralph will brand you as a "Pro-Saddam Baathist
terrorist"! B^)

Although he is sheepishly quiet about his numerous position
shifts now! ;-)

Fascists can be elected if their media manipulation is effective.

LOL ... surely only in the recesses of your delusional mind does a

followed swiftly by a democratic election constitute a "coup d'etat".

Too bad you can't handle the truth. The statement you responded to was
correct: the USA always won on the battlefield. They lost the PR war.

Yes ... that scramble onto that helicopter from the roof of the US
embassy in Saigon was all lies and distortion by peacenik journos.

No. It was South Vietnamese civilians fleeing those nice peaceful
communists. The US army having left *two years* earlier.

Murderous collaborators leaving the mess they'd been part of after the
US had been defeated on the battlefield, despite bombing the crap out
of the civilian population and putting a bounty on bodies.

Your lame attempt at spin is noted.

It's called "fact" Fran. The Vietnamese couldn't best the Americans on the
battlefield. Your slandering of refugees as "murderous collaborators" is
noted.

They were both refugees AND collaborators. That's why they feared

The Vietnamese disagree with you

They left because it was politically untenable at home for them to remain
(that's the problem with being a democracy fighting a communist
dictatorship). The didn't leave because the Vietnamese fought better than
them.

So Fran, back to the question you conveniently skipped: You have evidence
the people who fled had murdered anybody?

Thought not.

So you're staking your claims about the general result of military

No Fran, it's fact :
http://www.vietnamgear.com/war1973.aspx

The North Vietnamese invaded in 1975 ,almost two years after a peace pact
was signed in Paris, and the Allied forces had left.
Don't let the fact, that South Vietnam actually started to run down its
military, after stupidly trusting the North to abide by what they had
signed, get in the way of your take on History though.

You are correct. The television news at the time made it look like the
Americans were defeated by the North Vietnamese and they swept the Americans
out. All that was contained in the shots of the helicopters leaving the
roof of the Embassy in disarray. It was cunningly cut news-making.

Here's the original claim:

"The NVA and Viet Cong were the one's getting their arses kicked every
time they met the Allied Forces in battle." (Brash)

The US marines fled as a demoralised rabble in 1973 and Saigon, April
1975 was the result. Look at the scoreboard, as they say in sport.

Here's the original claim again: "The NVA and Viet Cong were the one's
getting their arses kicked every time they met the Allied Forces in battle."

Absolutely true.

BTW, still waiting for that evidence that the people who fleed in 1975 were
"murderers"

For the record, the description I used was "murderous collaborators".
That's not necessarily the same as being murderers personally.

It's clear though. The US ran several murder for hire programs (e.g.
Phoenix, Wheeler etc) with collaborators. Leaving the people who ran
those programs behind would have been embarrasing to say the least.

And of course, one of the most famous pictures of the war was of
General Ky summarily shooting an alleged NLF supporter in the head,
The leadership of the "South" Vietnam collaborator regime was
generally changed by means of violent coups with US backing.
'Murderous' is the right term for the regime's supporters.

So, no actual evidence that the people jumping on the choppers were
"murderous collaborators". I guess your slander of the refugees was complete

No, that was a police chief shooting the VC cadre

So, anyone who prefered the Southern regime to the North was "murderous".
Charming. You really are a kook, and a totalitarian apologist one at that.

"Over 1.4 million military personal were killed in the war
(approximately 6% of whom were members of the United States armed
forces)."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War
http://www.rjsmith.com/kia_tbl.html

Hmm.

"After the war, North Vietnamese officials acknowledged that the Tet
Offensive had, indeed, caused grave damage to NLF forces."

By all non-Marxist accounts, the US frequently handed the North
Vietnamese their asses and lost 6% of the forces killed in the war.
Spin away, commie.

Another Leftoid who can't handle the truth emerges.

Take a closer look..... those people scrambling on to the helicopters aren't
US military. They're mostly civilians.

US and other Allied combat forces had withdrawn from South Vietnam long
before the North Vietnamese (broke the peace accord) and invaded.

Re: A Sad Day In History
Peter Wicks seems a bit confused..... but that's no surprise.

These Leftoids are well known for being delusional.
