Roger says that there has no need to investigate it.
 However THERE IS.
 This can be demonstrated very simply.
  If the warming was due to a greenhouse effect then CO2
 would cool more slowly than air when placed in cool air
 IT COOLS FASTER.
 If the greenhouse effect existed then Methane would warm
 faster than Air or CO2 when exposed to sunlight
 IT WARMS MORE SLOWLY.
 The school children who write up their notes on such
experiments  are being bamboozled.
 They are being taught LIES.
 As the Jesuits used to say.
 "Catch them young and they will stay faithful"

Thank what ?  And how is it cooling in the experiment you envisage ?

I think you need to describe the circumstances you envisage.  So far 
you've got as far as making it sound like a thermal capacity issue.

So are you suggesting that absorption spectrum is the only issue ?

Yes -  but possibly by people who personalise the debate without making 
their scientific point particularly clear !
