OT - Dismay
I've seen about 5 tennis strokes on sports news bulletins in the past 2
weeks.
But I read that Wimbledon is still only 4 days old.

Still 3 months of it to go then.

God save me please.

Dear Arthur,
Lo verily, chin up my son, it could be worse.
Yay, be thankful, 'tis possible to escape to the channel they call
four whereupon ye will find Big Brother.
Someone I know would refer, then, to Wimbledon as the lesser of two
evils.
Peace be on you.
Bundles of love,
God.

Somebody may have misled you as to the length of Wimbledon fortnight.

Hypothyroidism is a seriously debilitating condition with an insidious
onset.
Although common it frequently goes undiagnosed.

Childhood memories of mother only giving us salads during Wimbledon
fortnight as she didn't have time to cook. It's now a family joke
which mother denies vigorously.

Some of us *like* Wimbledon. Plus we get revenge for sitting through hundreds of
hours of footie a year.

How much of that would be to do with the young ladies in their short skirts
being a more appealing sight than 22 football players?

I manage to sit through neither - mostly - which is a great source of relief.

I find spectator sport, especially on TV very boring.

Well, it's certainly a factor. Although the stupid noises that Sharapova makes
more than compensate for her pulchritude. I'm quite glad she's out, actually.

And she wasn't even wearing a skirt. That'll teach her.

It was a rhetorical point. I don't literally "sit" through it.
