Employment Agencies Act requirement
Can anyone spot the flaw in this requirement? This is a real footer
from an agency ad minus the name btw.

'In compliance with the new regulations (April 2004) in place under the
Employment Agencies Act, XYZ HR Solutions will require proof of
identification. A current copy of a passport, driving licence, ID card
or NI card will be required as part of the registration process. Email
and faxed copies are acceptable.'

So if I 'find' a NI card (or copy one from somewhere), I can just send
that - right? the agent never sets eyes on me and the employer will not
know me from Adam.

Oh yes, and this is a nice way to get entry into that new growth
industry 'Identy theft'. How do you know that the agent will keep your
details secure?

Daft or what?

"Agencies: Just Say No."

Because most people who are "consultants" are not salespeople.

In the *real* world, that means most of us need to use agencies to
find most contracts.
