to-the-core Members of the West Australian Parliament ! That was a
most smart move indeed which successfully prevented that Royal Inquiry
that dangerous Attorney General Evans had required into our private

Last but not least, you were so smart blurring the tracks that it took
that idiot of Turcaud nearly a generation to pierce it together the
way we rolled him in the flour !!! ... and now thanks to you, Dave, it

Board Appointment - Executive Director Dr David Tyrwhitt

South China Resources plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr
David Tyrwhitt to the Board as Executive Director.

Dr. Tyrwhitt has had a long and highly distinguished career in the
global mining industry spanning over 40 years.

Dr. Tyrwhitt was the founding CEO of Newmont Australia and was
responsible for the inception and expansion of production at the
Telfer gold mine from 500,000 tonnes per annum to 2 million tonnes per
annum. Prior to this he held several senior positions within Newmont
worldwide, including Director of Exploration Australia, Exploration
Manager Eastern USA and Exploration Manager South East Asia.

After leaving Newmont in 1988, Dr Tyrwhitt became CEO of Ashton
Mining, Australia's largest diamond company prior to its eventual
takeover by Rio Tinto.

He then headed up a joint venture of Normandy Mining Australia and
Anglo American exploring in South East Asia, with a focus on Indonesia
and Laos.

Since then Dr. Tyrwhitt has been actively consulting in the Asia
Pacific region with particular emphasis on China. He has worked
closely with Robert Friedland in China, including evaluating copper
porphyry deposits in Tibet, and has also worked with several
Australian groups elsewhere in the country.

Alastair Clayton, Executive Chairman commented, "We are delighted to
have a person with this depth and breadth of experience in China and
particularly Tibet joining our Board. David has spent the last 5 years
in Tibet seeking out opportunities for global scale mining projects in
the province and will be a major asset to the Company going forward.
We intend to make further Board appointments as and when they are
deemed necessary."
