Payment dates
Hi All

Are most of you paid at the beginning of a calander month, or at the
end? I ask this because my umbrella company has recently adopted the
practise of paying everybody on the last day of the month. Given that
my customer pays my invoices typically on the 5th, this means the
umbrella company hold on to my money for nearly a whole month. Their
excuse is that they are able to pay everyone only on a single date
(although this has not been the case in the past, they claim it's due
to new legislation), and that the last day of the month was chosen to
be the most convenient date for everyone ...

Cheers
Geoff

I get paid when my client pays me, which is when it says in the contract I
have negotiated. Or, if they pay late, they get a bill for 12% interest (or
whatever it's gone up to this week), which they pay in due course.

Your umbrella company should pay you according to the terms and conditions
that you have negotiated with them. If they don't, then take appropriate
action. If they do, then they're doing what you agreed so you have nothing
to complain about.
