VAT in advertised rates
I'm currently working on a business plan in readiness for starting as
an IT contractor in the New Year. I have seen plenty of adverts (and
market stats on contractor.uk) for say a Java developer with an
advertised daily rate of £330. Now, do these figures include or
exclude vat? I'm assuming they are exclusive of vat and the client
merely passes on the vat costs on to their customers in some way, but
obviously if I've read the situation wrong then it makes a big (17.5%
to be exact) difference to the daily rate.
