Stechford birmingham
Hello all,
Looking for a half decent restaurant in the Stechford area of Birmingham (This is the are around the
Airport, NEC and Solihull)
Needs to be fairly local and preferably not part of a chain or pub (who all seem to mainly server up
frozen food reheated).
Needs to be able to cater for a basic foodie (taking a young man with learning disabilities who does
not like "fancy" food) and for someone who likes fine foods (his aunt who is into fine dining). One
would be happy with the pub the other would just sit there saying I'm not eating that!
Nearest I can come up with is the Wheatsheaf Hotel and that is really a pub and part of a chain
anyone got any other ideas for someone that does not know the area well?
regards
timco

Re: Stechford birmingham
There is a really great place that serves FANTASTIC food, although the
atmosphere of the place is pretty quiet and just not there at night
time.. it's in the Birmingham Business Park.. called LSQ2 down
Solihull Parkway, Waterside .. there are signs posted for it and a map
on the website. Like I said, food is fantastic, check out their menu
on www.lsq2.co.uk .. it's Austrialasian type food, moderately priced,
not silver service fancy but certainly many many scales above being
pub food. And quite possibly just what you're looking for. There is
definately food for the 'foodie' and basic food for the young man who
isn't quite so into fancy foods. This is one of two restaurants, not
quite a chain, the other being in the Reading Business Park. What it
lacks in the evening time, customer wise, it makes up for during the
day.
Bookings can be made online or by telephone. Hope this helps and that
you get a chance to try LSQ2 out!

Thanks for the help, if anyone else is looking in the area found a rather nice place The Malt Shovel
at Barston http://www.themaltshovelatbarston.com/ nice atmosphere, good restaurant, good food (for
both the foodies and not, try the fat chips more like lumps of stone henge in size but still well
cooked.) and a reasonable price too. all food and drinks for 4 people for less than £100.
Did not book but they were able to find us a good enough table immediately.
