GBBF 2009 Earls Court
I was wondering why http://gbbf.camra.org.uk/beers doesn't just provide a
PDF file listing all beers expected to be available this year. It is a few
years since I was last at this show and would prefer to have the full list
rather than navigating in and out and around and around various drop downs
etc. etc. Bit of a pain in the bum actually. Does anyone have or know where
I can get my hands on the full list prior to travelling from oop north?
Thanks,
Alan M.

Pain In The Areaofthelowerback
Basically I agree with the OP that having a site with lots of drop-down
menu options for differing types of beers, locations, etc isn't really
what is wanted. It may show the web masters skills off, but doesn't
easily provide the information needed.

Well we are travelling from Kirkcaldy, land of the Harbour Bar (One Hoose
Juice and 5 ever changing guests).
Well Chris, if you look at the Beer List page it requires you to go through
an incalculable series of drop down combinations in order to make up you
personalised list of beers. I personally don't have a few weeks to trawl
through it all.
Hope you have a good time Chris.

They've done that so that some breweries don't find out that their beers
are rated as practically undrinkable - having being given just only
over one star :)

I don't mind the idea but the database is not fully searchable.
I would love to have a list of all the light milds or very light
bitters so that I can go and buy straight away - but you can only
search by region or brewery.

And - as mentioned elsewhere - if I select "north west", I expect to see
breweries in the North West. This Yorkshireman doesn't consider
Yorkshire to be in the North West! And as a current resident of
Cheshire, close to Stockport, I really struggled to find where
Robinson's is listed - to mention just one. Oh how silly of me.
Stockport, like Manchester and Liverpool are in the Peak District aren't
they. The words "pig" and "breakfast" sprint to mind. :-(

Why would one want to find Robibson's at a GREAT British Beer Festival? (;-)

So don't you think a fantastic beer like that ought to be at GBBF?
It is - deservedly so! Tis very highly rated across the northwest.
(Has been in top four of branch votes for the last two years.)
And who brews it? Yes - Robinson's!!!
I am currently enjoying their new seasonal 'Tit for Tat', too!

I thought we'd had enough negative comments about the geographic
knowledge of whoever lays out the bars last year that it might be a
bit better this time around. At least if I wind up on the North West
bar serving Yorkshire beer again, Salamander have something a little
closer to their normal form, the stout last year was distinctly meh,
while they do a huge range of excellent pale bitters. Not that
there's a shortage of pale bitter on that bar, mind.

Just as an aside, what are the prices like this year? Have we reached
