BBC Radio 4 Excess Baggage - Indian Pale Ale
Just remembered that on Radio 4 last Saturday morning at 10am the Excess
baggage program was doing India, and Delhi in particular. They had a bit on
about a bloke who took a barrel or two of IPA brewed by the White Shield
Brewery in Burton to India by sea (Bombay via Brazil from Southampton) and
then overland to Delhi and exhibited it at a trade fare.
He wanted to find out what it would taste like after the rigours of a long
un-airconditioned journey .
And the answer was - quite good apparently and he could have taken quite a
lot of repeat orders though he has no intention of setting it up as a
regular job. They didn't believe that it was actually beer though I suppose
they are used to a diet of Kingfisher so not that surprising.
I presume it's available on listen again if anyone wants to listen to it.
