Walsden Cricket Club spring beer festival 4th April 2009
On Friday, April 3, from 5 pm to late, and on Saturday, April 4, from noon
to late, more than 25 real ales and ciders will be presented at the club, at
Scott Street, Walsden, Todmorden with food available at all the sessions.
Entry will be £2 (although Campaign for Real Ale - CAMRA - members can get
in free) and the club are encouraging people to use public transport links
to get there and enjoy the event. The club is five minutes from Walsden
railway station and there is a regular bus service.
A spokesman for the club said they had been inspired by the success of the
long-running Todmorden Beer festival hosted at Centre Vale each September by
Todmorden Cricket Club, which is now an established event in the town's
calendar.
The club had decided to host an event of its own but wanted to ensure it was
at the other end of the cricket calendar from the Todmorden event so the two
events would be seen completely separately.
