Butcombe Brunel 200 IPA 5%
A strong Summer Lightning-style beer. I like the name Butcombe because
if you are too drunk to speak you can easily mime it. The Spoons at
Tooting was packed out. Has everyone's giro turned up a day late?

Went round to Mitcham just in time to see Little John The Submariner
being refused service (by Russell) because he was drunk. John showed a
bit of dissent. Then he came over and appealed to us.

I said, "If you were sober you would have accepted Russell's judgement
and left. The fact that you are arguing about it proves you are
drunk."

He couldn't argue with that, and out the escape hatch he went.

It's usually pretty full, for several reasons:

- by Spoons standards, it's tiny.
- it's the cheapest pub in Tooting
- it's the only pub in the immediate area that (sometimes) has interesting
and varied real ales.

Very much a shithole though. But I still drink there.

It is indeed. Another thing that does not affect me very much are the
heroin addicts who hang around the front door harrassing the smokers
ALL THE TIME!
