Was it as bad as the one on Monday about the couple from Norfolk who "opened
up" their house as a restaurant and advised another couple in London on the
same?
It was so bad you just had to see if it got better. It didn't.
Katie Price has less faked bits.

A couple who lived in a one room basement flat!
If anything it was worse. Somebody had gone to great effort to pick people for
their oddness rather than for their potential to be partners of Raymond Blanc.

I'm glad I gave up with that one.

Didn't watch that but did see occasional bits of the Restaurant.
I had to laugh at the couple who chose gravad lax for their fine dining
offering, but didn't appear to realise that it could be made rather than
just unwrapped from a plastic packet.
I wasn't surprised to see one couple go straight away, but surprised
others made it through.
It looked like the contestants were recruited from the queue waiting to
see another programme - Strictly Come Dancing perhaps.

It was on TV when I arrived home from work last night and I find it
amazing that out of all the people who must have applied to go on the
show, the judges, including the big man himself, came over as being so
incompetent as to choose such useless contestants. I would certainly
think twice about going into business with the so-called judges, never
mind them going into business with the contestants. It would appear to
be very over-rated.

They didn't actually buy or make any, despite the wife having had "relationships
with Laplanders". She served a salad with poor quality Scottish salmon just as
it came out of the packet.

The whole focus of many TV programmes, seems to be to trigger as
many tears, stupid cockups and showdowns as possible.
They must choose contestants accordingly. The Apprentice is an example.
It's the modern equivalent of going to Bedlam to laugh at
lunatics; or throwing eggs at people in the stocks.

I have never seen the Apprentice and have no intention of starting now.

But the big man is not a lunatic (at least I don't think he is). He is
a businessman with a reputation. Perhaps he needs the money. From what
I saw last night, the show did nothing for his reputation.

The contestants he chooses, are no doubt selected for the
"entertainment" value.
of their worst qualities.
He is

So is Alan Sugar. Obviously he considers the exposure is worth
something to his business or reputation,
though I can't imagine what.

When it's on I prefer to read the Guardian live blog about it - much
funnier.
It's rather an odd phenomenon - watching a programme while reading a
journalist commentating live on it, as well as posts from others who are
either watching the programme, too, or just contributing to the blog -
but somehow it works.

Not so long ago in another thread, you were asking "Do people really
watch such rubbish TV?". It seems now that you like this sort of
braindead puerile rubbish as much as the next person. You couldn't
even "manage" to change channels could you, fatso couch potato. A very
big dose of double standards here methinks.

Should do wonders for the blood presure. You've probably got a case
for unfair dismissal, being under the shrink and all but I'm guessing
you reliquish all rights under employment law when you take early
retirement - Might be worth checking with the Union.
Sounds like a great deal though, maybe you could set up a nice little
CB shop in Refren. or go into partnership with Tox and the dark lord.

No, but I have it on good information that Jim is in the Buffs and
also an avid member of REACT.

Oh Dear!
I'm sorry that I jumped to the wrong conclusion here, Jim.
You defended Brian Reay in respect of wearing wigs and I assumed,
wrongly, that you were either one of his sycophants or a sock-puppet.
As for Masons, my profession is also over run by them, mostly promoted
by their mates up to levels beyond their ability. So I do know exactly
how you feel about these twats.
Simon confirms that you are one of the good guys, which adds to my
embarrassment!
I offer my apology wholeheartedly.

Hello Len/Shirley
I was the weakest link! I didn't know the difference between an idealist
and an idiot.
I do now!
Are you using your wife's computer or do you have other issues
Len/Shirley?
