I only usually remember when I get a bollocking from the local landlord for
kicking and hammering on his front door an hour early tomorrow lunchtime. (I
do also notice a few other weirdos and ne'er-do-wells creeping about at that
hour.)

Thanks for that, Sacha. I did know and then forgot. An extra hour in
bed! Trouble is, I'll probably be up with the lark.

I get jet lag twice a year - falling back and forward. It's so
annoying not to be able to relish that extra hour of sleep!

The newscaster here said to do it at 3 AM turned back to 2. I laughed

What - you don't do that? Sometimes I've dozed and have missed the
deadline by 15 minutes. I've expected the police to knock on the
door. BTW - clocks don't go back until the coming weekend here in the
US.

It's the cars' clocks we always forget to change, resulting in a nasty
shock a couple of weeks later, especially when the clocks go forward.

In Germany they are complaining about having to change the clocks to winter
time. I thought that was a very British thing :o)

You'll never get that 15 minutes back now :-( Too bad; that
missing quarter hour of your life
might have been your personal 15 minutes of fame.

The clock on my car, which is a Ford, is a pain in the backside to change,
as it is one of those damn things which only goes forward, so you have to
hold the button down for, what seems like, about ten minutes, whilst it goes
all the way round, 11 hours of change, that and other things make me wish
I'd never bought the damned thing!

My Nissan has a similar clock otherwise, I am happy with the car.

Help me to change the clock on the house Honeywell thermostat which refuses to
change OR help me to change the times of all settings?

Just opened my eyes to find that it is half past ten at night. When I
fist started it was just after 5-30 pm :-(

All told, I don't think any normal person looks forward to the time
changes. It's so darned archaic. If farmers need to get up an hour
earlier or later, let them. Just leave my clock alone.

I think the problem is less about how Ford design car clocks but why we
think changing the clocks twice a year even remotely sensible?

That is said every year, twice a year and seems to make absolutely no

As it is such a pain in the backside, I've stopped altering it, I just leave
it on whatever time it is, and if I want to know the real time I look at my
watch!

It's not just the clock, but the damned speedometer, as I am colourblind,
the speedometer has a red indicator, and against a dark background I cannot
see it properly!

That's terrible; you need some contrast! Car companies need to think
about these things. Write them. Maybe they can't help you now (I bet
they can), but they could certainly incorporate it into a future
design.
