Not really. The vaccine is made by several companies at the request of
governments, who take the threat of a serious epidemic seriously.

Do you mean the normal flu season, which is winter or the normal number of
deaths caused by flu in summer?

The only time I ever had flu in summer was during a similar flu epidemic in
1957.
