"Jewish" Soup with dumplings   
A few years back I had some "Jewish" soup while visiting the USA.  With 
winter drawing in, I'm thinking of some soup making and I'd like to had a go 
at this. The problem is, I can't recall the name of the soup.

It was sort of a thin broth with golf ball sized dumplings. It was described 
to me as an "old Jewish recipe". I think it was called <something> ball soup 
but I'm not sure.

Any ideas, please?

I think it's called Zyklon B ball soup.

Following a post by S Viemeister, I'm pretty sure this is Matzo(h) Ball 
Soup. The name sort of "came back" when I saw it and looking at the on-line 
recipes it looks right, although I didn't think it was chicken soup based 
but it was a couple of years back that I tried it.

It seems you make the balls from crushed Matzos (a cracker like biscuit) or 
Matzo meal. I'm going to try and locate a source of the latter. Several 
sites suggest Tesco stock it.

If you can't find matzoh meal or matzohs, just use water biscuits.

Well, I've only tried it once (in 2006 on a trip to the USA) so perhaps you 
will forgive me for not remembering the details!

I noticed some of the Passover type connections when looking for recipes, I 
like that sort of  "history" to my food.

tasting it. Did the menu state "contains unidentified meat" or
suchlike?

More like you were looking to divert attention away from the fact that
you had been exposed as a bully in another thread and quickly thought
up a question to ask to make you appear nice and normal. You have
plenty of "history" but none of that has anything to do with food.
