eau de vie
what is it? Came across an Elizabeth David book on the market for 25p but
as I only had a tenner the man said I could have it for nowt. Advantages of
being rich, eh? She says to preserve tomatoes in oil and top it off with a
layer of eau de vie to preserve the oil in turn. I know what League of
Gentlemen said was eau de vie, but I doubt she meant that. And what do you
put on top of the eau de vie to preserve it? And.............

As I have never tried it, I don't think that would be a good idea.

I have never made it, so wouldn't be of much assistance. Eliz David is
generally easy to follow, if you really wanted to have a go.
