Clinton talks tough
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3793552,00.html

<quotes>

WASHINGTON - The United States demands quick action on Tehran's part in
implementing the draft agreement on its nuclear program, Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton said Wednesday.

The secretary of state added that she expects the Islamic republic to hand
over most of its uranium to Russia as soon as possible.

"In particular, prompt action is needed on implementing the plan to use
Iran's own low-enriched uranium to refuel the Tehran research reactor,"
Clinton said.

</quotes>

Seems Clinton doesn't read this newsgroup.

Unfortunately, such sabre rattling is hardly going to impress Iran who with
an 'or what?' could be inclined to drag their feet for no other reason to
nark the US and wind-up Clinton; there's often nothing better than laughing
at someone who goes apoplectic in a fit of pique when all around is clam and
rational.

With an agreement in place, the important thing will be to ensure it comes
to fruition. No need to posture and threaten Iran, no need for antagonising
now. With Iran agreeing to a deal it is unlikely that anyone could support
the US in any strike on Tehran for failure to move quickly enough. In fact,
Clinton has potentially handed Iran a propaganda victory as her veiled
threats are seen by other world players as pretty pointless, needlessly
needling Iran when there's a satisfactory outcome to be had. Just give them
some time, let Iran comes to terms with what has to be done.

It's been said before that the US doesn't know how to play the quiet
diplomacy game, and Clinton could even undo all that's been achieved.
Sometimes it seems members of the US Administration need to know when to
keep their mouths shut, but I guess she is just playing for the home crowd,
oblivious to the consequences elsewhere. Some would say that's a repeated
American trait and mistake.

Listen to this fucking guy, unreal.

As if a global player like Clinton would see the true light, and handle all
the worlds affairs in a satifactory manor ,,, If only she would listen to
what hippy & co say [read this newsgroup]!
I suppose shes in a "fantasy world" also, huh bin hip ?

If there is anyone on the entire usenet who is more self deluded, vain,
presumptuous or egotistical [and without any cause whatsoever to have such a
bloated opinion of oneself], I'd like to see the google link.

BTW hip, I beleive, in fact I am absolutely certain, that things would be
much, much better if I was calling the shots instead of Obongo.
But it doesn't work that way, and am not deluded enough to make believe that
it does, or could.

Seems the Chinese may agree; no need to rush things, it's the result which
is more important than any plolitical bluster ...

"BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- China said on Thursday it welcomed progress
achieved in Iran nuclear-fuel talks and the gradual implementation of the
consensus reached in Geneva talks this month" -

Like I said the USA is not calling the tune any more.

/////
   On Oct. 1, senior officials from the United States, Britain, Russia,
France, Germany and China held talks with their Iranian counterparts in
Geneva.

    At the meeting, Iran agreed in principle to ship most of its
existing low-grade enriched uranium to Russia and France, where it would
be processed into fuel rods with a purity of 20 percent.
//////

SO the Russians and the French will help process the fuel for Iran in a
deal brokered by China and the US will do as it is told.....
