There are reports that the Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi has died, 
according to Sky sources.

Apparently his lawyer says he's not.

Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Al Megrahi's lawyer has denied reports that he 
has died.


Sky News quoted sources this afternoon who cited reports claiming the man 
convicted of Scotland's worst atrocity, the bombing Pan Am flight 103 in 
1988, had passed away.

But his lawyers in Scotland quickly refuted the reports. 'It's absolutely 
untrue,' lawyer Tony Kelly said when asked for confirmation. 'He's 
definitely not dead.'


'I'm not saying anything about his health condition other than the fact he 
is alive and breathing,' Kelly said.


It is not clear where the Sky report came from. The Foreign Office could not 
confirm the report and the Scottish government said it was checking. There 
has been no official confirmation from Libya.

Wouldn't be the first time that said news network was run by Murdoch. Fox 
also comes to mind.

Still, running hares beats reporting the news: after all, you can dream up 
rubbish without going out of the office, and it still sells.
