American Moon scientist Stewart Nozette 'tried to spy for Israel'
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article6882571.ece#
An American scientist who worked on the cutting edge of lunar exploration
was due to appear in a Washington courtroom today charged with attempting to
sell classified secrets to Israel.
Stewart Nozette, 52, a former White House expert who helped discover
evidence of water on the Moon, was arrested at his home in Maryland
yesterday after a sting operation involving an undercover FBI officer posing
as an Israeli agent.
The Justice Department said that Mr Nozette was charged with attempting to
communicate, deliver and transmit classified information. Officials said
there was no wrongdoing on the part of Israel.

On topic. Attempts to spy on US installations relate directly to the
security of those installations, and others. Security breaches at sensitive
targets allow information out and attackers in.
Why?

Because it says here "uk.current -events.terrorism". Not "security".
This guy wasn't even in touch with anyone, it was simply an internal
security check They found him. No terrorism in view.

Unless of course you think that terrorists are about to blow up the
moon. Me, I think that it would be a definite coup, but remains
unlikely.

So you don't think that terrorism and security have ANY connections to each
other at all? Well, it's certainly an interesting point of view. I'm not
sure why you're attempting to take in on yourself to police this newsgroup.
It's not going to be a very rewarding career.

You could make the same argument of someone arrested for conspiracy to
commit explosions.
I suspect that you have a different objection to my post than it's subject
line.
Just say what the problem is. You can tell me. I'm a doctor.

My suspicion was that the poster was harassing me because I appeared to have
posted something that accused the Israeli state of spying against the US,
and his complainst about the post being off-topic were his way of saying
"yes, well, they didn't really do it did they?!".
I don't really understand the obsession with EVERYTHING that even MAY be
off-topic having to be slavishly considered, validity carefully pondered and
duly marked. Usually you can tell by the subject line anyway. There was a
time when it was important because people used dialup and time cost money,
but now it just helps people cut out background noise. There isn't a lot of
noise on this group though, so it's of minimal benefit, other than just
getting people into good posting habits.
I don't understand why something like this can't just be allowed to slip by.
I personally can't believe someone is actually arguing with me that a
security issue relating to someone selling US secrets, and who may have been
doing so for some time - to anyone - isn't relevant to a terrorism group,
but as I said, I'll leave that to differing points of view!

Since I have been here, there have only been 2 people who get their
knickers in a knot over what they deem as "off topic" posts, Hippy &
Chris - With Hippy even in the habit of reporting me to my news server
for off topic & impersonation.
Doesn't do a lick of good, they told me my posting abilities would be
suspended if they got more reports, I told them I would cancel my
account within the hour if they did that, and get a new server.
Never heard a peep out of them since.
Unless you post child porn or make personal threats, they don't give a
flying hoot about some disgruntled idiot trying to get vengeance on one
of his usenet adversaries by reporting them.
Now this Krak guy washes up and starts the same line, its pretty obvious
they are in cahoots with eachother, if hes not a bonafide sock puppet.
Obviously, any security implication for the USA is fair game here.
The resident zionist posters here post things non stop that don't
specifically have to deal with the UK.
If all articles posted had to have had specific UK/terrorism related
content, this group would have dried up and withered long ago.
As far as this case, doesn't surprise me a bit.
The jews are only behind China and possible Russia in espionage efforts
against the USA, probably same holds true for you.

I only ever post here (or anywhere else) using my own, real email
addresses. I don't use fake or multiple email addresses.
Actually that is not quite true. I have three domains but I post as
Chris Hills from all of them. Never use any other name.
However Jesse as we all know is very paranoid.

The group is uk.current-events.terrorism, not
uk.current-events.uk-terrorism.
The group is a UK group concerned with terrorism.

You'd best take that up with Jesse. He's the one in this group encouraging
people to complain about off-topic and postings not liked to ISP abuse
departments while being the prime culprit in off-topic postings and lying
that it's only others who have a problem with such things.
Jesse has got it into his thick-skull that when someone complained about one
of his postings it was me. It wasn't; I'd say if it was, but I'm not going
to waste any more breath on anyone who will simply believe whatever they
want to believe regardless of truth or evidence. On the other hand,
coincidental to Jesse's demands that complaints are filed with ISP's, and
posting the abuse address of my ISP to facilitate that, unsurprisingly a
complaint was filed against me.
Nothing came of that ( the same with 'being reported to the ADL' for alleged
anti-Semitism, and suggestions I'd be 'in prison for a very long time by
next week' and my 'ISP would undoubtedly ban me' because of my views ) but
I'm on my guard; just like the citizens of Germany had to be careful what
they said when the snitches of the Hitler Youth were about who were only too
happy and eager to remove and silence those who didn't sing from their hymn
sheet.
Of course, those who complain to the authorities shouldn't be surprised if
they find themselves also being watched by the authorities. They usually
know it takes two to tango and groundless complaint usually swings suspicion
onto those complaining.

It's certainly more on topic than any of Jesse's racist, white-supremacist
postings, which clearly are about race, colour and nationality alone.

It's probably just another means for denial of reality. Believe that
everyone who happens to have the same views must be sock-puppets of another
and it makes one's fantasy world more comfortable to live in.
In a fantasy world, facts are whatever you choose them to be, regardless of
reality or evidence. It's almost impossibe to convince someone so willing to
delude themselves that reality is actually different to how they see it.
Often not worth the effort, though I expect mental healthcare experts would
disagree on that.

I reported your nappy headed ass, very true - For threatening to kill

Mmm hmmm.
Just a big coincidence that you 3, and you 3 alone, whine about off
topic posts ,,, Chris & Krak specifically complaining to TWP within the
past couple weeks about off topic posts.
Just a chance that you and Wobin stopped replying to my posts at the
same time - Not that I care, mind you.
It must get tiring getting the shit slapped out of you so often, but it
goes to show you chaps are coordinating your childish tactics in this group.

Lol, talk about a fantasy world.
Hippy & Chris, the guardians of pure, unadulterated truth !
The decider's of reality & evidence !
Anyone who doesn't fall in line with their oft repeated amateur babble
is deluded ,,, And if only global players like Hillary Clinton would
read this newsgroup and study your glorious insights, they would know
exactly how to handle Iran, along with every other world problem !
You are about the most vainglorious, deluded nut job I have ever run
across on the internet ,,, But you already knew that.

Its pretty obvious that they deem an independant, objective mind from a
fellow European as a less that desirable trait, and are trying to pick you
apart to make you fall in line.
As the egotistical Hippy just laughably said, he and he only knows the true
facts & reality, and anyone who does not perfectly agree is just deluded,
living in a fantasy world.
You are up against some true crackpots TWP, and they will try to run
roughshod over anyone who does not toe their corrupted line.
I don't see you as the guy who'll back down from their sniveling, bullying
tactics, which is why you are about the only one here that I have any measure
of respect for.
I realize that may be a dubious endorsement but, like you, I call em as I see
