OT: Fox reports a tsunami warning for Australia, Hawai'i and New Zealand.
Doesn't look too terrible at the moment, going by places that have been hit
already, but sometimes one direction gets away with it more than others.

It's reported to not be near the scale of the 2004 tsunami.

Sirens to sound at 10 a.m. if tsunami coming

September 29, 2009 9:55 AM HST

LIHU'E - If a destructive tsunami is heading towards Kaua'i and Hawai'i,
Civil Defense sirens will sound across the island at 10 a.m., said Mark
Marshall, Kaua'i Civil Defense administrator.

I don't quite understand the point of this post.

IT is not relevant to UK terrorism.
Also every news channel reported it. What is so special about Fox
reporting it? Or is it actually newsworthy because Fox have actually
done a balanced news report?

Note that no matter what the subject Jesse manages to get some ass into
it somewhere.... The Boys at Gay Times must be really proud of him.

Why do you care what I watch?! I like Fox more than Sky because it
concerns itself more with world events and actually has some personality.
There's a monotone about Sky News' presenting that gets to you after a
while.

The post was tagged "OT:" You can filter out OT messages with message rule
filters if you don't want to read them.

Be honest - did I really piss you off with my OT post or because I disagreed
with you recently? Don't take it personally. It'd be really boring around
here if we all agreed!

If there's one handy...

I suppose the problem with tsunamis is that you don't know how bad they're
going to be because the energy doesn't radiate evenly. Some people could
just get their feet wet, while others loose their homes, so getting up as
high as you can is probably the best plan.

Lol - Chrissy throws a hissy !

Be careful, Dippy & Wobin tend to follow lock step behind Chrissy,
they're gonna try a gang bang if you don't start coming around to their
views.

I think you are right about Fox having a bit of personality.
I'll watch about any damn thing, as long as it keeps my interest ,,,
MSNBC & CNN here tend to hire bull dike lesbians & sissy boys in suits
who just keep stammering about the same things, even if they expressed
views I agree with theres no way I would watch them on a regular basis.

Fox, on the other hands, their news babes are almost all hot, and the
guys are pretty entertaining - Probably why they are, by far, rated #1.

Bleeding heart liberalism has such a lock in the UK, I'm not at all
surprised that some find it refreshing to view something else for a
change - I'm sure, without a doubt, that everyone here watches it, but
you are the only one with the gnads to admit to it.

Well hell, you baffle them with logic, thats good enough for me.
You made a good point "it would be boring if we all agreed", and that is
exactly what they are after.
They do 90%, at least, of their "debating" with themselves, basically
tripping over themselves to agree with each other, and raising minor
points of difference here and there, just to present what objective,
open minded guys that they are.
Such charades are as easy to see through as a glass table, and deserve
nothing but the contempt I give them, by refusing to even directly reply
to the worst of them [Chris, and boot licking lackey Chatnoir, at this
point].

Yeah you've been here for a while, so have I.
I think I started posting in late 2002 or so.
Not many Mericans left here, I wonder whatever happened to Oak, I think
he must have been felled.
He is still, by far, the all time leading poster here, as far as post
counts go with 13,540 ,,, Though #2 Dippy, at 9,545 as we speak, will
doubtlessly pass him in the near future, unless ill fortune befalls his
ugly ass too.

You are at #5 at 6,298, and I bring up the rear of all time top 10 at 4,614.

Most people who have ever posted here have been OK with me even when they've
disagreed with me. You invite a few sparks to fly when you disagree with
someone's basic beliefs, obviously, so sometimes people get a bit pissed
with you for a while. It's to be expected, and I think/hope most people
here are able to get over it pretty quickly. A small number of posters in
the past just wanted trouble of course, but you get that sort of thing
wherever you go.

I wondered that too. He was just suddenly gone. Never appeared again.

I think one person has died that I've known on the net since I've been on
it, and I heard of at least another dying just as I got on. It maybe wasn't
Oak's fate, but it's going to happen to some of the people we know in places
like this. When it does they'll just vanish (unless they've put in their
will - "announce my death on uk-ce-t so I don't look like I've been beaten
by TWP's superior debating and run off!").

Well, with me and people like hippy, chris and their various toadies,
and the french maggot RLM who has been poking his long nose in this
group, we are idealogical enemies.
I would like to personally beat the shit out of them, and if and when it
becomes legal to hunt down enemies of the state, I'd be more than happy
to offer my services in getting rid of vermin like this.
So yeah its the internet and all, don't get too serious - But deep down
inside, I would like to see them gone *poof* ,,, And I'm not bashful
about admitting it.
They think the same of me, of course, but will not likely admit it, in
fear of tarnishing the peace loving, civilized image that they wish to
project.

That said, I don't mind at all listening to a variety of views, and
debating any rational person.

Gotta be dead, RIP.
A person just doesn't amass that many posts, then drop off to nothing
overnight.
Could have been some progressive, terminal illness that he never was
inclined to say anything about, might have got suddenly zapped by
heavens knows what.
It'll be like seeing a damn ghost if he ever came back.
Not that I ever had much going on with him, he seemed to me kinda level
headed and middle of the road type of guy from what I remember, somewhat
like you.

Yeah, it happens.
I'm healthy as a damn horse, but who knows what tomorrow might bring.
I remember reading about some website that does just that, makes
announcements of passing to various forums people were active at.

There ya go, give hippy a run for his $$.
Vain bastard that he is, he'll probably want to be crowned as king of
alt.uk once he passes the dormant Oaks mark.
I'd be all for it, if I'm the one who gets to crown him.

Just a thought - don't you think opposing viewpoints are useful and
sometimes necessary to prevent self-delusion? One of the most useful
things I've found here is being temporarily shown the world through someone
else's eyes. I usually (not always) come away still thinking what I thought
originally, because I've usually come to my beliefs through different chains
of events or news reports that are hard to be talked out of, but discussing
things with someone else at least gives you an extra brain to think with.

You maybe meet with more hostility than I do because you're American, and
you can't help but represent America to those who strongly believe that
America is responsible for many of the evils in the world. You might meet
with some hostility even if you agreed with that viewpoint.

Most of the Americans went as reality became too difficult to ignore and
all the propaganda from GWB was shown to be lies (where are the WMD)
and the fact that 90% of things predicted by me, Robin, Hippy etc were
shown to be correct.

FACE, OAK, George , Z etc had all their core ideas on Iraq and
Afghanistan and the performance of the US military shown to be false.
Not to mention the downright lies they pushed.... They all used fake
names and id's George's claimed employment was shown to be a lie. (We
can make transatlantic phone calls from here)

MikelG was real (worked at Pope AFB) and we corresponded off the NG.

I recall as late as December 2007 being told by the Americans here I had
no idea what I a was talking about when, since 2006, I had been
predicting a major financial melt down in the US in the summer of
2008.....

Also in 2001 I predicted the course of the fight in Afghanistan despite
Jesse and friends saying it would all be over in 6 months. I said at
the time the Tora Bora complex was a myth... since shown to be
completely accurate.

Then in 2002 I recall saying that whilst the US would win the initial
battle field push into Iraq they had no hope of winning the street
fighti9ng and subsequent Police action... and they are leaving Iraq
without a victory. (In 2 years Iraq will be a Pro-Iranian Islamic state
so OBL wins.)

The list goes on and on... hence the many "I Told You so T-Shirt"
threads in this NG

I can't thing of a single time when OAK, FACE, Z, Jesse, called anything
correctly over the last 8 years.

What they did not realise is WW3 has happened and the US has lost.... by
it's own hand. I have had discussions re the "new world order" in
several areas of business and politics. All are quietly saying the
same: The US is still in the top 5 but not top dog any more.

The reason why it is in the top 5 is others are keeping it there because
a sudden complete collapse will cause more problems so more of a
"controlled demolition" is required. If you notice Europe and Asia are
coming out of recession faster than the USA.

Also now many US businesses are foreign owned. The US is important as a
consumer market. That is all. If you note the G7->G8->
G8+India+China.... The UN security council will change soon. The UK is
more than likely to loose it's seat but the US will be in a minority
when India and others join as permanent members. I suspect the US will
also loose it's veto. Then Israel is doomed.

Well, that's cleared that up! :-)

I don't know why you care about his career or his life or whether I'm a Fox
News Zombie though. Don't let it all get to you - you'll end up in an early
grave!

I heard of Fido, but never saw it.

I'd have got on BBS's in 1984 if my spiffy acoustic coupler modem had
actually worked! (1200/75, 300/300 baud! Also 1200/1200, but I'd believe
that when I saw it) It seemed to connect, then just put loads of scrambled
ASCII characters all over the screen, like someone typing really fast, but
not caring which button they pressed. Things got really crazy when it tried
to type bell and clear screen characters. I got fed up with fighting with
it and traded up for a ZX Spectrum +.

He made claims about knowing things and relevant experience including
military service in Iraq but the dates did not add up.

Also he claims many racial things about "niggers", gays, spics etc
mainly their intelligence etc that do not hold up and it is clear that
his life is part of it. His claims there do not fit together. He is
lying and fantasising about his own life and mostly spouting propaganda.

It appears that this white supremacist is not even honest with himself.

Too late for that :-) I am way past an early grave. Running a
business is more likely to send me to my grave.

I always had a proper hard wired modem.

1200/1200 was half duplex and never really caught on as most received
more than the sent then 2400/2400 came in followed by 9600... It all
seems such a long tome ago.

Usually parity error.... Yes in those days you had to set word length
and parity. Odd, eve, mark, space or No Parity.... 5,6,7,8 bit words.

:-) I had one of those.... some what modified. It had 3 parallel BIOS +
a RAM bank. One of the Bios's was the original, one modified and one of
my own. There was a set of debounced switches on the case to swap. SO I
could start games on the Origional BIOS and then swap to one of mine,.

Serial and parallel ports and a proper keyboard, also too flooy drives
and a prestel adapter.... that was when I still had time to do
electronics.

Mind you I worked for a communications company in Malvern at the
time:-)

I wouldn't say self delusion, but rather perspective, variety.
Thats why I said "That said, I don't mind at all listening to a variety
of views, and debating any rational person."
Entertainment value is also a factor, thats practically the only reason
I read anything hippy writes anymore, for example.

I don't do it much on the net, but I often play "devils advocate" in
some of my real life debates, where I'll take a position I disagree with
and try to defend it in a convincing fashion, and see if I can convince
the other person that I really believe that.
It can be a great way to tell the real views of the other person and,
obviously, requires some knowledge of the other position to be rendered
effectively.

Well, we all have out methods of deriving opinions, and thought
processes which lead to them.
I am old school, set in my ways & views, convinced of their validity,
and am therefore highly unlikely to be swayed by opposing views.

> You maybe meet with more hostility than I do because you're American, and

Well, the rampant, rabid, foaming at the mouth anti-Americanism is plain
for all to see from the usual suspects.
Barely can tell their rhetoric apart from the radical islamics ,,, In
fact, they spout much the same drivel, with almost the same spin on just
about everything - But anti-Americanism being first and foremost on
their propaganda list.
I hardly bother to think about it, and does not bother me in the least.
If people want to associate me, by default, as "America" just because
I'm "American", thats fine by me - After all, if you are not pissing
someone off, then you are doing something very wrong.

I have expressed views in the past that even hippy came right out and
complimented me for, and I could dig up the google links to prove it.
I march to the beat of my own drum, and only consider what is right for
myself, my family & my country [and race] as my guiding lights - And,
obviously, those views often do not fall in line with "American policy".

>> I would like to personally beat the shit out of them, and if and when it

>
> Why though? I'm sure you have your reasons.

Easy - The positions that they promote & believe in will be the literal
death of the western world, and a ghetto inheritance for my children and
grandchildren.
To counter that, if thats not worth fighting and killing for, I don't
know what is.
They are poison shrews, advancing the invasion of our [once] civilized
and great nations by hoards of spiteful 3rd world aliens, and for that I
have more regard for the life of a fruit fly than I do for them.

When the age of artificial politically correct tolerance falls by the
wayside, there is going to be hell to pay, and I trust & pray that I
will live to see that day and, indeed, play an active part in the
redemption of my countries heart and soul.

Why did you do that?

Have you seen the new modifications for Spectrums and BBC B's? People are
selling modification kits to connect flash memory cards to them as hard
drives!

I wish I could take a few of those with me back in time! :-)

Because I could :-)

I wanted to correct some of the known bugs in the BIOS, add a few ideas
of my own also it was a way of getting inside some games.
