Saleh Nabhan eliminated
In a helicopter-borne US commando action in Somalia, 14 September 2009.
All the news organs are reporting what the American networks picked up at
the Pentagon, no official statement yet from Washington, but the Arabic
Qaida-friendly websites have heard from Shabaab and yes, Nabhan's career is
over. Also there is this sort of bombast coming out now:
[
(AP) A senior commander of Somalia's insurgency has vowed to avenge the
U.S. raid that killed one of Africa's most wanted al Qaeda suspects.
The al-Shabab commander told The Associated Press on Tuesday the insurgent
group will try to retaliate against America for the raid that killed Saleh
Ali Saleh Nabhan in southern Somalia on Monday. The commander spoke on
condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.
]
Reuters and AFP are carrying similar reports.
His Arab affiliates called him Salih al-Nabhani. He appeared in one or two
Shabaab recruiting videos.

Somebody in Shabaab called the BBC to make dire imprecations :D But it does
indicate that Nabhan was no ordinary fugitive criminal. He wasn't. The other
Qaidaistas will be shocked at how neatly the Americans could take him out,
right in the middle of "Shabaab-controlled" territory. Not good news for
Arabs terrorists who want to flee Pakistan these days, or for Shabaab's
recruiters in Europe and North America, either.

You are suggesting we could see drone attacks in Europe and North
America.

Re: Saleh Nabhan eliminated
Somebody in Washington tells AP that the dead are Nabhan, one Somali, and
"four foreigners of unknown origin".

So at least four civilians were murdered?
