London has been lying for the last 3 years about trying to get the Libyan murderer of Yvonne Fletcher
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6832361.ece

Begins:
The Libyan killer of a British policewoman will never be brought to justice
in Britain after a secret deal approved by Jack Straw.
The Foreign Office bowed to Libyan pressure and agreed that Britain would
abandon any attempt to try the murderer of WPC Yvonne Fletcher, shot outside
the Libyan embassy in London 25 years ago.
Anthony Layden, Britain's former ambassador to Libya, said this weekend he
had signed the agreement with the Libyan government three years ago, when
Straw was foreign secretary. At the time Britain was negotiating trade deals
worth hundreds of millions of pounds with Libya.

--------
Now you Britons, be careful not to criticise Muammar Gaddafi. He can have
you killed right in the UK, and expect London to do nothing more about it
than they did about Fletcher. What Gaddafi wants from Britain, Gaddafi gets.

Interesting spin and disenginuity. If the deal is true, it's more,
'government puts some interests above others' and that's overwhelmingly true
of governments around the world.

What Gaddafi wants from Britain he likely only gets when it's seen by
government to be in the best interests of Britain. If the government were
the puppets of Gaddafi it wouldn't have tied abandoning pursuit of the
Fletcher case to a trade deal would it ?

Now, 'government puts trade deal ahead of murder victim justice', I'd go
along with - that's 'business as usual' all round the world.

You don't make a very good conspiracy theorist Larry. That there's a
logical - if arguably distasteful and/or wrong - reason for what the British
government has done makes your theorising laughable. It could be spun the
other way; Britain forces Libya to agree to huge trade deal in exchange for
dropping Fletcher case; Gaddafi is 'Britain's Bitch'.

For some reason you want to hammer "London". You're not doing a very good or
plausible job of it. You'd have done better concentrating on the 'is this
right to do?' aspect of the affair as the Times and others have, rather than
trying to hang your own, weak, conspiracy theories on the back of that.

What about the illegal killers of British service personnel Should we
still demand that they stand trial? Will the US hand them over?

The US has unlawfully killed far more British people than Libya.

I can't understand it... We are the ONLY people globally who are helping
the US in any real or meaning full way in Afghanistan and Iraq.

If the UK pulls out of Afghanistan the US is screwed.

Whitehall denies it:

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi will probably speak up about it. Everybody listen,
now.
